Everyone gets super excited when Lakme comes up with new launches! And, as you all know, they have launched a lip shimmer collection and you guys can also view my preview of these lipsticks. I picked all different colours from different families to make the reviews better and to give a fair idea of the range. And, to start with, I picked up “Pink Flash”! Scroll to read more about it.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Pink Flash Illuminating Lip Shimmer:
Packaging: I am so happy that Lakme finally added a new touch to their packaging. The lipstick comes in a basic black box with the description and the shade name. And inside sits the lip colour. The packaging of the lipstick is deep charcoal grey with white fonts. It does look classy and elegant. It looks a lot similar to their “skin gloss” skin care range. The lipstick has a label at the bottom stating the colour, I wish there was some colour-coding too. The lipstick is super handy and the cap closes with a click, so no way of the bullet getting harmed.
Shade: The shade “pink flash” is a bright poppy hot pink colour. It is a perfect pink which is super bright and perks up the face instantly. It is very close to a raspberry pink, so pretty much wearable for all the skin tones, if you can handle shimmers. It is not as bold as fuchsia, so not need to get scared of this pink.
The colour is perfect for evening parties and festive season. The shade has shimmers which might not be clearly visible in the pictures but are visible when observed closely. It has pink shimmers which create that “illuminating” effect on the lips. The lipstick looks quite glossy initially but soon changes its texture.
Consistency and pigmentation: The consistency is super smooth and buttery which is why it glides very easily on the lips. Just a swipe and I have the pop of colour on my lips. It looks a bit too frosty initially, but later, it settles down and looks great. I build it up a little to make the colour look more intense. But, after a few hours, especially after meals, I could see a huge difference in the texture. This lipstick dries out my already dry lips and clings to dry patches on my lips. Also, the shimmers become much more visible since the colour gets ripped off after meals.
Staying power: The staying power is somewhere around 3-4 hours with heavy meals since, after a meal, 50% of the colour gets ripped off and all I can see is a little colour and shimmers. Without food, it will stay for 5-6 hours. It does transfer a little and settles into the fine lines after meals.
So, these are some good lipsticks for the festive season or parties. But, I don’t like shimmers that much, so I would still favour the other ranges from Lakme!

• Shimmers are highly visible after meals
• Dries out my lips after a couple of hours
• Looks pretty tacky after 3 hours or so
• Not everyone would like shimmers
• Transfers a little and clings to patches after meals
Will I Repurchase/Recommend Lakme Absolute Pink Flash Illuminating Lip Shimmer?
I wouldn’t get these again as I already have 5 of these. I would recommend only if you are comfortable with shimmers. These are some good lipsticks for the festive season and for parties.

Conclusion:
I like the other ranges more because shimmers are not my cup of tea; I like their Gloss Addict and Sculpted Matte range more.

Since I despise shimmery lip products, I will never be able to pull this off 🙁 But I really liked your review and swatches Saloni 🙂
