Here is one more shade of lipstick from the Lakme Absolute Gloss Addict range for you guys! This range has really beautiful shades, but what I have observed is that a lot of these shades are not suitable for Indian skin tones. I have fair skin, and I was still not able to carry this ‘Pink Passion’ with confidence because it just made me uncomfortable. Read further to know more about this one.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Pink Passion Gloss Addict Lipstick:

Lakme has innovated a lot with their lip colours recently and has made amazing ranges to offer. I picked up 2 shades from this range. This one comes in a long, deep grey box with the lipstick inside. The lipstick comes in a dark silver cylindrical bottle with a transparent lid. The packaging is fancier than the 9t 5 range which shows differentiation of prices. It is very handy and looks gorgeous in one’s kitty. But, we need to be pretty careful while closing the lid because the texture is very soft and it might just rip some lipstick off when closing it. This shade is a cool pink with blue undertones.

It is more like a princess pink or a Barbie pink which will actually suit only princesses and Barbies. It is a little on the neon/florescent side which instantly makes the skin tone appear darker or tanned because that is the way neon works for Indian skin tones. It has minor shimmers particles that are a little bit on the frosty side due to the colour and micro shimmer particles present in it. The one thing I did not like about this one is that it will suit only fair skin tones. Most Indian skin tones will not be able to carry it since it won’t really look appealing on wheatish/dusky skin tones. I have a fair skin tone, yet I wasn’t really comfortable wearing this and genuinely speaking, I did not look good either.

I looked like some inexperienced chick who does not know what suits her skin tone the best! The texture is buttery soft and glides very smoothly on the lips giving a pop of colour in just one swipe. It is a highly pigmented shade with a balmy texture that gives you a boost of colour along with hydration to the lips. It also gives a glossy shine that instantly attracts attention. It is very creamy and due to the pigmentation, it does settle into fine lines and makes cool pink colour in the lines very noticeable. It does highlight the chapped portions on my lips, but after a while the hydration makes the chapped portion vanish away. It stays very pigmented and glossy for the initial 2 hours and then settles down to a semi matte finish where the colour loses its intensity.

After 2 hours, it looks more like a tinted lip balm with good pigmentation; basically the boldness goes away. It survived snacking, but it won’t survive heavy meals because the shade isn’t that bold. And, when you start snacking, the colour might spread here and there, making the shimmers seen all around the lips which looks extremely tacky. This lipstick stayed for around 3 hours and then only left a tint which made my lips look healthy pink, but I hate those shimmers! I think this is not for us, hence stay away from such shades. • It stays on my lips for 3 hours with colour and shine gradually decreasing
• Packaging is very convenient and gorgeous

Cons of Lakme Absolute Pink Passion Gloss Addict Lipstick:

• Transfers on glasses and tissues
• Little pricey
• Leaves shimmers on the lips after the colour fades away
• Will not suit wheatish and dusky skin tones
• The shade has a frosty finish that I hate
• It settles a lot into fine lines
• It makes my complexion look tanned

Will I Repurchase/Recommend Lakme Absolute Pink Passion Gloss Addict Lipstick?
No, I do not recommend this as I did not like it either. This shade is just not made for our skin-tones! It looked really bad on me and I would like to stay away from such frosty shades.

Conclusion:
I think this is a very pretty shade, but not versatile enough to suit all the Indian skin tones. So, this can be skipped and there are various amazing shades in the range that can be tried. Also, we have a lot of options in pinks to go for from various other brands.
