Lakme Absolute Raving Red Lip Tint Matte Review

I couldn’t resist but buy one of these cute and chubby pencils from the newly launched range. Initially, I was seeking for the magenta one, but that was out of stock, so I had to settle for this. Let us know more.

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Raving Red Lip Tint Matte:

Packaging:
These are too cute to look at. The chubby pencils have a color coded body with a metallic cap that fits snugly. It is quite travel friendly, except for that the cap may come loose. The pencil comes in a black outer carton, which has the description and other details. The ingredient list is missing though :-/

 

Shade:
Raving red is a tomato red colour that brightens up my face instantly. It looks brighter in person than in the photographs.

 

Texture and Pigmentation:
I’m not a sucker for matte, but I do love them occasionally. The texture is pretty rubbery and crayon like. It does tug here and there. It also highlights every fine line and dry parts of the lips without fail.

It feels light on lips without feeling waxy or heavy. It is also very drying and my lips tend to suffer, whenever I take this off at the end of the day. A lip balm underneath is a must or else it will lead to patchy finish.

Pigmentation is good, but I won’t say very good. Since this is a bright red, I’m not very concerned about it as it shows up well enough to brighten my fair skin tone. The intensity can be built easily too.

 

Lasting Power:
This stayed put for a good 5-6 hours, after which it started to fade from the corners. It does survive small meals, which is a pro. Even though it is matte, it tends to transfer somewhat, but very minimally. Thankfully, it does not smell or tastes like anything. I am pretty happy with the staying power, but the only thing is that it is super drying on lips, thanks to the formula.

• Raving red is a lovely tomato red colour.
• It would complement almost all Indian skin tones.

• Does not feel waxy or heavy on lips.

• Staying power is a good 5-6 hours with meals.
• Priced well compared to its competitors.
• Easily available.

Cons of Lakme Absolute Raving Red Lip Tint Matte:

• The formula is super drying on lips.
• It tends to highlight every single lip line and dry flakes of lips.
• Exfoliation is a must prior to application.
• Tugs during application because of the texture.
• Some may find it less pigmented.
• Lip balm underneath is a must.

Would I Recommend/ Re-purchase Lakme Absolute Raving Red Lip Tint Matte?
I wouldd definitely give this one a green signal for all the matte lovers out there. This is a pretty red to own.
