I really liked Lakme’s Sculpt Hi-Definition Matte lipsticks that they had launched last year. Just recently, they have come up with “Illuminating Lip Shimmer” range and I have picked up a few shades from this range. Today’s review is on the shade “Rose Gold Dust.” The sole reason behind picking up this shade was its name. I am crazy about rose gold these days. So, I thought why not try a lipstick with the same name. Let’s get into the review straightway now 🙂

My Experience with Lakme Absolute Rose Gold Dust Illuminating Lip Shimmer:

This lipstick comes in a classy black-colored cardboard packaging, which has all the details about the product like shade name, description, etc. The lipstick comes in a black plastic tube with sheer black casing and cap. Though the cap has a translucent finish, still it becomes quite difficult to detect the shade. So, I need to check the base every time to find the shade.
Packaging

The lipstick bullet has a round shape unlike regular lipstick bullets. The lipstick tube has a twist and lock mechanism, which ensures that the lipstick bullet would not be damaged. The lipstick cap shuts with a click sound and that makes the lipstick travel friendly. Overall, I like the packaging.
Lakme lipstick

“Rose Gold Dust” is a pretty glittery light orange shade. It looks so nice on the lips, but it does look a little too glittery. It will suit fair to medium skin tones very well, but it may wash out darker skin tones. The lipstick is loaded silver glitter. These glitters are neither too fine nor too gritty. These shimmers are very finely milled into the lipstick giving it a gorgeous illuminating effect, but I personally feel this particular shade is too glittery. It is a nice summery shade. This particular shade has sheer pigmentation and two to three swipes are required to build up the colour. This is such a pretty colour, perfect for evening parties. This lipstick has a mild vanilla fragrance, like all other Lakme lipsticks. I personally do not have any issue with its smell.
Lipstick packaging

The texture of this lipstick is nice, soft and creamy. It is so smooth, glides effortlessly on the lips without any tug or pull. It spreads evenly on the lips without any patchy finish. It sets to a beautiful glossy finish and feels light on the lips even after layering. The formula is so moisturizing, does not highlight any dry patches of the lips.
Lipstick

Its soft moisturizing formula keeps my lips hydrated. The lipstick sets to a nice shiny finish. Most of the shimmery lipsticks look chunky, but this one does not look gaudy. The creamy formula of this lipstick makes it prone to transfer. It does not crease at all and does not settle into the fine lines of the lips. It does not smudge or bleed.
Swatch on hands

It stays on for a decent period of time, lasts for approximately 5 hours with a little snacking, which is impressive for a creamy lipstick, but it does not survive full meals and fades away leaving the shimmer behind. I do not like shimmers on my lips so I go for reapplication quickly. It is quite easy to take off this lipstick. Overall, this range has some very pretty shades and amazing quality.
