I had an eyeliner from the Lakme Absolute range and after being very impressed with it, I wanted to try a lip liner from this range. I got it in the shade “Merlot” a few months back. Read on more to find out about this lip liner:

My Take on Lakme Absolute Forever Silk Lip Liner in Merlot:

It comes in a retractable pencil form and looks classy. The outer cover is black in color with the color band at the end of the cover. The cover fits efficiently and cannot come out accidentally; hence it is travel friendly and can be easily carried in handbag.

Merlot shade is a mixture of maroon and brown. It is more on the maroon side and has hints of burgundy. The shade is very pretty and would easily go with plum, browns and maroon lipsticks.

The pencil is very soft. It glides on easily, like a crayon. It is creamy in texture and isn’t drying at all. The finish is matte, not glossy. It helps to hold the lipstick in place efficiently and gives intense color in a single swipe. It doesn’t have to be pressed hardly while using and can be used to apply a thin line as well. Being very soft, it might break if too much product is taken out while applying.

It stays on for 4-5 hours. After 5 hours, only a thin line remains which needs to be removed with a makeup remover. It helps to increase the staying power of the lipstick used with it. Being retractable, there is no need to sharpen, hence there is no product wastage, but definitely hygiene issues are present.

Yes, definitely.  I loved its texture and I am definitely going to try it in more colors.
