Hi lovely ladies!!!

My love for orange lipsticks isn’t going to end soon. I keep eagerly waiting for any new lipstick range to be launched so that a new orange lippie can be added to my already existing orange lipstick craze. So when I heard that Lakme is coming up with a new matte collection I was extremely excited and kept calling a number of stores to ask if they have received the new stock. I wanted to try these Lakme lipsticks before the purchase because Lakme adds shimmer in most of their lipsticks, so I wanted to make sure that the colors I pick up have no shimmer as I absolutely hate shimmer in my lipsticks.

Few days back when I was at the cosmetic store I cannot tell you the amount of joy I received when I saw these lipsticks and the best part, they have three orangey shades to offer from this range that have no shimmer. So without wasting time let me review one of the lipsticks that I picked up- Lakme Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi- Definition Matte Lipstick in the shade Tangerine Lush.

My Experience with Lakmé Absolute Tangerine Lush Sculpt Studio Hi-Definition Matte Lipstick:

Lakme Absolute Sculpt Studio Hi- Definition Matte Lipstick comes in an outer grey cardboard packaging that holds the details pertaining to the product but no information regarding the ingredients is mentioned on it. The outer carton opens to reveal the gorgeous lipstick inside that comes in a gunmetal grey tube with a reflective finish covered in a transparent casing and a transparent cap. I like it that you can see the lipstick shade through the cap, which makes it easy to spot the lip color you want to pick out from your makeup stash, in case you have more than one lipstick from the range. The cap snaps on snugly, making it travel friendly.

The shade name and expiry date is mentioned on the bottom sticker on the lipstick which is a plus point as you need not keep the outer box to check the expiry date of the product. The overall packaging is similar to the Gloss Addict range except for the fact that the name ‘matte’ is mentioned on the body of the lipstick tube instead of ‘gloss’. I wish they should have changed the packaging and made some difference from the Gloss Addict range so that it wouldn’t lead to confusion while picking up the lipstick.

Tangerine Rush is a gorgeous orange lip color with a hint of red in it. It has absolutely no sheen or shimmer. It is a bright summery shade and an absolute delight for orange lipstick lovers like me. Though it is a bright shade, it is quite wearable and isn’t neon. It will brighten up your face the instant you apply it on your lips. This shade will look fabulous on all skin toned beauties.

The texture feels extremely luxurious on the lips. I’m a matte lipstick lover but totally despise the tugging and pulling of most of the matte lipsticks, and I’m glad that there is no pulling or tugging experienced with this lipstick. The texture of this lip colour is to die for; soft matte kind that is really smooth and soft on application. It is soft, but not the creamy-soft kind that crumbles easily. It is a non-drying matte lipstick. If you hate matte lipsticks then you should definitely try out a lipstick from this range as it might change your perspective regarding matte lipsticks. This matte lipstick doesn’t dry out your lips or look tacky by the end of the day.

The lip colour is amazingly pigmented and one swipe gives true colour to the lips covering the lip pigmentation totally. Although it doesn’t cling to the dry parts of the lips a lot, exfoliating and prepping the lips prior to applying the lip color enhances its buttery finish. Once you apply the lip color it just sets to a complete matte finish that does not budge but does tend to transfer on eating and drinking.

Even after layering the lipstick with multiple swipes, it feels really light on the lips, like as though you have nothing on your lips. The staying power of the lipstick is really good. It lasts for a good 5-6 hours on the lips with gradual and even fading. The color stains the lips beautifully that lasts even longer. The lipstick does fade after meals, but the stain still leaves some color alive on the lips.

This lipstick has a mild vanilla fragrance to it, which fades away within a minute of application which doesn’t bother much.
