Lakme Aquashine Lip Color: Lotus Review
Most of you know that I am a crème matte lipstick fan and I can’t get enough of those. Glosses are not my cup of tea. They are something I can drool over, but can never feel confident wearing them. There are no reasons for this, but just that I feel shiny lips on me would look terrible. Nevertheless, I got a beautiful aquashine lip color from Lakme. I have been giving a second chance to Lakme because it has been around for so long that we have stopped noticing it 😛
Most of us would have used these lip colors. They felt new when they were released with the whole sponge tip and twist-up applicator with luscious creamy liquid lip color oozing out on the applicator waiting to be adorned. For me the story ends here, I don’t really put it on much :P, but I still think this color is gorgeous and it also makes for the best gloss I could put on top of my peachy matte lip colors in the centre of the lips, sounds good in theory, right?
For trial purposes, I have been wearing this and I must say the whole luscious feel is great. I totally know why girls would love a gloss so much. This one though I would say has a thicker feel than a gloss, but still it is not lipstick in any way.
The texture is smooth but feels sticky. I don’t like how it sticks at the centre of the lips and also, I think my lips drink up such lip products. Nevertheless, there are some things I love about this Aquashine in the shade “Lotus.”
The color is a gorgeous peach, something that sounds good in theory again, but when you wear, it will wash out the best of our Indian complexions. I wore it and after 25 minutes it looked like it went lighter and washed me out. I looked very dark and somehow my face cried for color.
The lip color surprisingly doesn’t bleed and lasts for 3 hours or more without meals. I was very happy to see the color still on for a long time without bleeding off the edges and also the tone was a little muted down as in the color had become weak like my lips drank up half the color, but overall, the color is really pretty, but you need to have a peaches and cream complexion for this one.
The finish I would say is glazy. Its not glossy but it shines with no obvious shimmer or frost. I would say gloss lovers will love it, such a nice peach. For me, I would wear it sometimes on top of a dry lipstick.
I totally love the cute packing and the tiny name mentioned at the bottom. I also love the sponge tip applicator and the whole feel of luscious lip color oozing out 😛
Luscious, peachy, shiny and glazy, this makes for a decent staying thick lip color, but this shade washes me out totally, so be wary and choose a color that would help your complexion. Overall, give them another chance!
