Lakme Earth Rose Blush Trio – Review, Photos, Swatches

Lakme Earth Rose Blush Trio is a 3-colour Limited Edition blush from Lakme’s Gypsy Collection Winter 2010.  The 3 colours consist of a  peachy-coral shade at the upper and lower ends, a fawny-beige shade in the middle and a kind of a deep mocha/earthy brown shade in the middle and mid to lower area.  This blush has no obvious glitter or shimmer, but a very  satiny/light frosty kind of finish.  Each of the colours in this Trio complement each other.  This blush has been a much-awaited product from Lakme’s Gypsy Collection and the last product from this collection to hit the markets.  Lakme has kept the best for the last.

Lakme Earth Rose Blush Trio comes packaged in a purple printed cardboard box with a circular see-through area in the middle of the box.  The box is printed with pretty maroon and blue flowers all inter-twined with spiral gold movements.  Details of the product are on the reverse of the box.

(When used with a blush brush, the product looks virtually untouched (like below – I have used it twice or thrice) and when I used my fingers to swatch it, only then did it look used) :

I am really loving this blush, and the way all the colours can be either used individually on the cheeks or blended together to create a peachy  shade of blush.  It all depends on what clothes and what makeup you are wearing, there’s something in Lakme Earth Rose Blush Trio that can go with everything you wear and any kind of makeup you do.  Or, you can use the fawny-beige shade in the middle as a highlighter, contour with the pinkish-peachy-coral shade and use the earthy brown shade as a bronzer.

(I have used a bit more product than normally required to blend in order to show the true colour in the photo).

What I like about Lakme Earth Rose Blush Trio :

  • I like the soft, satiny texture of all the 3 shades – really good quality.
  • There is virtually no fall-out while using.
  • I am loving the quantity – 13.5g – WOW, that’s even more than a regular pressed powder or compact foundation, which usually comes in the standard 10g.
  • I like how long it’s going to last, given the quantity, considering that half the size of this blush would have cost maybe Rs. 300?
  • It appears to be almost fragrance-free – thereby reducing sensitivities and allergies for people with sensitive skin.
  • This blush is very versatile – each colour can be used separately or blended together, depending on your mood, what you are wearing, and what kind of makeup look you would like to have.
  • Would be a good travel companion.
  • I like that Lakme’s website has been updated with this blush even before it hit the markets, and there is a good photograph and a good close-up photo too, and the swatches shown are very similar to the actual shades in the blush.

What I don’t like about Lakme Earth Rose Blush Trio :

  • It doesn’t come sealed, except the cardboard box.
  • No brush has been provided, but for a blush this good, I guess most of us would have anyway used our best blush brushes to apply this!

Don’t know whether this would be a plus or minus point – “Contents Made in Italy.  Imported and Mktd. By Hindustan Unilever Ltd.”

A  :-*:-*:-*:-*:-* Rating from me for this one, and I would definitely buy it again and again – let’s hope they make a part of their permanent collection.

scared it would break me out

As if this will be a very motivating factor

        :footmouth:

    1. Hi Neha, Radhika and Sharon….I personally don’t think Contents Made in Italy is really a bad thing. After all, we are buying loads of other foreign cosmetics, aren’t we?

  2. I loved the highlight shade. Bt don’t you think this shade wouldn’t show up on most wheatish skintones. Like this would exactly would be their skin shade no??

It’s a pretty blush shade though. Thanks, Sabrina. :))

    1. Welcome, Rati. I think the highlight shade would do just that – Highlight – on wheatish skintones. The colour may not show up though, but just a hint of a glow on wheatish skins.

  3. Great review Sab..thanx so much for the wonderful pics…I was actually waitin for Rati to review this..btw do these shades contain some shimmer?

    1. Oh okay, I didn’t realize you were hoping for it to be matte 😀 😀 Insist on checking it with the tester though and don’t buy it unless you see the tester shades…it does look a bit different on Sabrina than what it looked like to me on my fingers….just a teeny bit, but you know, better check…don’t buy without seeing..is 600 Rs :-))

  4. Contents made in Italy might be a bad thing….because they are washing hands off any responsibility I guess…or may be they want to show off this is “PHOREN:…..just like our preen queen and Cali…. :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug: :smug:

            1. 😯 😯 ..I neber show off…. :-(( :-(( …Its just that I only have those products to write about here :snicker: :snicker: …for example my Jergens shea butter cream with a high concentration of pure African Shea Butter, a natural source of antioxidants and vitamins.. 😛 😛 😛 😀 😀 😀 ..and I absolutely love it!! :inlove: :inlove: :inlove:

  5. Hi Jomol, I think they are just stating this Contents Made in Italy in a matter-of-fact kind of way. Lakme doesn’t need to have their products imported – their products will sell anyway in the Indian market. I think their Nine to Five products like the eye pencils are also imported, as well as their Eye Glide eye pencils. Also, if I’m not wrong, so are their new Gypsy Collection eyeshadows.

    1. yeah and except eye shadows everything is good. I loved their nine to five liners and their glide on pencils are also pretty good. Yeah lakme always sells.

  6. Hehe Jomol – did the swatches on the right hand – bracelet is on the left hand (I have worn this bracelet continuously for the past 7 years – I even know when I lose or gain weight!). Oh, I am wearing an Inglot nail paint, the one posted in my birthday shopping article.

  7. Hey Neha…chennai main in November and December…retreating monsoons cause rains……its not unusual for chennai at thswi time of the year O:-) O:-) O:-)

  8. Ya Aquashines are made in Germany I thinkk…actually the first time I saw it I was like ohhh no wonder their products are much better now than they were before 😀

  9. the blush looks really tempting!! i’v been tryin to stop myself from buying it….dunno how long i’l be able to do this though.. :struggle: :giggle: :giggle:

  10. Pretty blush! I don’t know how it’ll work on deeper skintones though….
Also, I love the cardboard box, but the plastic packaging is meh!
    Mixed together it’s gorgeous!

  11. Is it really broken out the normal skins????..oh noo..i choose the blush at last by taking many controvrcy!butt….pls make a rply for me..
