Lakme Enrich Lip Color in Classic Pink Sorbet Review

Lakme Enrich Lip Color in Classic Pink Sorbet Review

Hi Lovelies,

Remember in my last review for the Chambor Truly Flame lipstick, I had mentioned that I don’t own any other shimmery lip color – ermmm, well I take my words back. I found another shimmery lipstick right after I sent in my review – it’s the Lakme Enrich Lipcolor in Pink Sorbet. Again, this was one of those “matching lipsticks” with a matching saree to go to a wedding sort of buy – yes, I do have quite a few of those 😛  Let’s look at the shade.

Lakme Enrich Lip Color in Classic Pink Sorbet Review

Price:

Rs. 225 I think.

Packaging:

Pink Lipstick 1

The same old Lakme brown casing with golden piping and a click lock that is easy to use. I get so nostalgic whenever I see the lipstick, it reminds me of my childhood when I used to apply my mom’s makeup and pretend to go to work 😛

Pink Lipstick 2

Shade:

This is called “Pink Sorbet” and it’s a popping bright, shimmery fuchsia shade. It’s a cool-toned/blue based fuchsia that would look good on fair to medium skin tones in my opinion.  It would look great with a no-makeup look and simple winged eyeliner.  Just because the shade is so vibrant, it would instantly cry out for attention. This has fine golden shimmer in it, which isn’t very chunky or obvious on the lips. However, in my opinion, this is a color that would look good with ethnic wear rather than western wear because of the shimmery texture.

Texture:

Pink Lipstick 3

I don’t remember using a single Lakme lipstick in my adult life before this, but I still remember the texture of the old ones, very hard and extremely difficult to apply so that it tugged on the lips A LOT! I was pleasantly surprised to find that the texture of this lipstick is extremely smooth, creamy and easy to apply. It doesn’t settle into fine lines at all and does not bleed (not much any way). The pigmentation is great.

Staying Power:

Okay, about the staying power, it definitely doesn’t bleed. It does fade after 4-5 hours, but leaves behind a pretty stain and that stain is practically impossible to remove! I mean it stays on FOREVER!!! I have to use olive oil or the Maybelline makeup remover twice to remove the stain. Weird, isn’t it?

Here’s my LOTD:

IMBB Rating:

4/5.

Overall Verdict:

This lipstick is like arranged marriages, where you are not in love and have your reasons to get married, but later you fall madly in love. When I bought it, I had my reasons to buy it, although I never wear such bright shades, but since I have found this lipstick in my stash – I have started liking it. This is definitely for people who love bright lips and brides or newly-wed gals should definitely give this a dekko to pair with the post marriage bright suits and sarees.

Hope you liked the review.

Till next time, take care and be good. Muaaaaaaaah!
