Hi girlies,
Today I shall be sharing the review of a lipstick from my MIL’s stash *shhh*. She has lived all her life wearing only this shade, which actually amazes me because which female on earth has just one lippie with her? *surprise*. Anyway, to each his own, let us move to the review.
Product Claims:
Lakme claims that Enrich satin lipstick casts a spell in satin. Rich color takes life in a luxuriously creamy stick that brings satin to your lips. Enriched with sunscreens, vitamins and the goodness of olives, your lips will have a story to share. Indulge in a pod of beautiful shades ranging from floral pinks to shimmering peaches.

My Experience with Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick 455:
Packaging: It’s really high time Lakme did something about their packaging. I am so bored of seeing the same purplish plastic body with the same coloured cap, though the cap clicks shut tight. Still I want them to revamp the packaging. The shade numbers are written on the top as well as back of the lipstick. It will be so difficult to locate your shade if you have a lot of these because you have to read the number and open up the cap everytime to see your shade. Quite a task… huh.
Texture: I like the texture of this lipstick as it is soft and buttery and glides easily on the lips. It keeps the lips hydrated. There is a glossy finish only for 15- 20 minutes, which then subsides. Since, it is a very dark shade, one swipe gives you a good pay off of the shade. There is no feathering or bleeding of this lipstick.
Shade: It is a deep maroon/burgundy shade. Definitely not for the younger generation. It can add years to your age. Though I like brighter and darker shades, but this did not look good on me at all. I looked older and the colour was making my lips stand out from the face. Also, in the day time, it would be a bit loud.
Pigmentaion: Thumbs up on this aspect as the lipstick is highly pigmented. My MIL has pigmented lips and just one swipe covers the pigmentation. Also, since it is nicely pigmented it leaves a slight stain behind. It can transfer to the teeth if you go overboard with the application. You need to be careful with the application, a lip brush is advisable to fill in the colour properly on the lips.
Fragrance: All Lakme lipstick have a peculiar fragrance, which I detest from the core of my heart and this one is no exception.
Staying Power: It stays for a good 4-5 hours sans meal and snacks. It can survive slight munching, but not a full meal. It transfers onto cups and glasses, so better beware ladies.
Let us summarise the pros and cons.
Pros of Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick 455:
- Good pigmentation. One swipe gives you a good colour pay off.
- Keeps the lips hydrated. There is no need of a lip balm underneath.
- Without meals and snacks, it stays for a good 4-5 hours.
- There is no feathering or bleeding of the lipstick.
Cons of Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick 455:
- Same old boring packaging.
- I don’t like the fragrance.
- Transfers on to cups and glasses.
- Definitely not for the younger generation.
Would I repurchase/recommend Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick 455?
I am sure my MIL will get it again. As far as recommendation goes, I would recommend to older ladies only. At the price Lakme is offering a decent average lipstick.
