My Take on Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick No. 141:
Lakme Enrich Satin Lipsticks have been around for as long as I can remember and reading Neha’s reviews on her latest Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick haul made me want to get some of those shades as well. The lipsticks sounded really nice, creamy and moisturising and are very reasonably priced. So, I went to the store. From among all the shades that I swatched on my hand, I liked number 141 the best. I seem to gather that this is one of the latest additions to the collection and therefore it hasn’t been talked about too much just yet.
This is my first Lakme lipstick ever. Speaking of the packaging, it is the old boring purplish one. It clicks shut, which is convenient. There is no ingredient list mentioned.
The lipstick itself is creamy and pigmented, quite like I had expected it to be. I think I would describe the colour as a pale peachy nude with fine/subtle golden shimmer in it. It is definitely a cream finish lipstick. I find that on my skin tone (NC 41), it sort of washes me out unless I wear it with adequate base makeup such as concealer and foundation.
My lips are pigmented, so I have to swipe the colour over my lips about two to three times for the peachiness to show up. Although I haven’t tried this yet, but I think that if I dab some powder or foundation on my lips before putting this lipstick on, then the colour might show up better.
As far as the feel of the lipstick is concerned, I don’t find it drying at all. I have very dry lips, so I have to exfoliate and moisturise my lips before wearing any lipstick. This lipstick doesn’t exactly set, which is why I would say that it is somewhat transferable. However, this being a light, nude shade, I don’t mind that part so much. I would recommend wearing this lipstick with a nude lip liner to prevent feathering and bleeding. As such, I don’t face those problems with this lipstick. It does somewhat settle into the lines of lips, but that happens to me with most creamy lipsticks.
The staying power of this lipstick is alright (about 2-3 hours) and it does not disappoint me. As far as the fragrance is concerned, it is very, very mild. It is almost negligible and it doesn’t bother me in the least.
I love adding nude lipsticks to my collection, and I certainly don’t regret having bought this one.
Pros of Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick No. 141:
- Soft, creamy and moisturising lipstick.
- Nice shade of peachy nude.
- Staying power is adequate.
- Does not bleed or feather as such.
- Reasonably priced.
Cons of Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick No. 141:
- No ingredient list.
- Can settle in fine lines of lips or even break because of its creaminess.
- It leaves traces of shimmer on the lips even after the colour has been wiped off.
My Verdict on Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick No. 141:
I quite like this lipstick and also the shade (peachy nude with subtle golden shimmer). I think it would be quite flattering on many kinds of skin tones. It is creamy and moisturising and stays on for a decent number of hours. Overall, I am happy with my first ever Lakme lipstick.
