Product Purchased by IMBB
I am back with yet another lipstick from the Lakme Enrich Satin range. This time, when I hauled for my IMBB sponsored products, I really wanted to include a few reds from this range as I have been quite drawn to red lipsticks lately and I really love the texture of the lipsticks in this range. So in this review, I will be talking in detail about the shade R357. It’s one of those reds that can easily be worn by newbies without being apprehensive about it looking over the top. So, let’s check this shade out more closely.
Steal the show with an intense, vibrant pout. The added goodness of olive oil and Vitamin E helps keep your lips feeling satin soft.
INR 260 for 4.3 g (bought it online for 221 INR).
My Experience with Lakme Enrich Satin R357 Lipstick:
The packaging of the lipstick has changed from the age-old boring maroon case to the new see-through packaging. The case is reasonably sturdy and click locks tightly, so carrying the lipstick around wouldn’t be a problem. The packaging is a nice change, but I would have preferred something that was a bit more prettier. The shades again do not have names or any shade indicators, but the cap being transparent, helps in locating the shade in the stash. The lipstick also contains an outer carton, but no complete list of ingredients is mentioned anywhere.
The shade “R357” is a super wearable carrot red shade with pink undertones that has minute silver shimmers in it, which aren’t too overwhelming and only add to the shine of the lip color. The lipstick would suit fair skinned girls really well and would look nice on medium skin tone girls; however, for girls duskier than NC42, I would suggest trying it out at the store as you might find the shimmers a little stark.
The texture of this lipstick is quite good as well. It’s super smooth to apply and there’s no tugging or pulling on the lips. It’s quite moisturising and there’s no need for a lip balm underneath. It keeps the lips moisturised throughout the wear time and in fact adds a touch of plumpness to the lips which I like.
The pigmentation of this lipstick is really strong and with one swipe, the exact color in the bullet can be achieved and the intensity of the colour can be increased by layering the lipstick. This lipstick has a tendency to transfer to cups and glasses and blotting the shade is must.
The staying power of this particular shade is a good 3-4 hours as it’s a deep shade and there’s slight fading as the hours pass by and with the intake of snacks. It however leaves behind a deep stain which stays for quite sometime and can be removed fully only with the help of a makeup remover.
Summing up the pros and cons:
Pros of Lakme Enrich Satin R357 Lipstick:
- New packaging.
- Easily available.
- Pretty shade that would suit a lot of complexions.
- Moisturizing texture.
- Pigmentation is strong.
- Decent staying power.
- Leaves behind a tint after fading off, so lips are never left bare.
Cons of Lakme Enrich Satin R357 Lipstick:
- Has a tendency to transfer.
- Has the annoying, infamous, stereotypical Lakme shimmers in it.
- Complete list of ingredients not mentioned.
- Some people may find the shade a little too bright.
I am falling more and more in love with this range with every passing day. Totally adoring the reds and wines that they are offering and this shade is no different. Everyone should at least pick one lipstick from this range as these are super affordable and there’s something for everyone.
