Lakme Eye Pot Review – Topaz

This one is for you, Poornima. 🙂

What is Lakme Eye Pot?

  • Eye shadows with the depth and luster of precious gemstones.
  • A sumptuous crème format that can be almost intuitively applied with fingertips to create layers and textures.
  • For glowing shadows with smoldering sensuality and mystery.

Price Rs 295/- (Indian Rupees)

Lakme Eye Pot- Topaz

Available in 3 shades : Topaz, Jade, Quartz

Shade I own: Topaz. It is a golden-copperish colour.

What I love about Lakme Eye Pot?

  • It is easy to apply. Even if you don’t know how to do eye makeup, you would be able to use it. Just apply it all over your lids, apply mascara and you are good to go.
  • I have a shade Topaz, I can use it all over my lid or just to highlight my brow bone, it never fails me. it gives a nice sheen to my lids and browbone.
  • It is not super pigmented but is quite buildable. So you can control the amount of colour that goes on your lids.
  • It has a creamy texture and blends easily. It turns powdery once applied on the lids.
  • I have it with me for almost an year now and it hasn’t dried up or changed in texture.
  • Has a light cosmetic fragrance.
  • Even in summers it doesn’t melt or crease. (considering you have primed your eyes)
  • Is decently priced.
  • The packaging looks cute.

What I don’t like about Lakme Eye Pot?

Even though it is a nice product an all, it has lots of drawbacks.

  • It just doesn’t stay on your eyes if you have not applied base on your lids. You apply it without a primer and it would start fading within half and hour or so. You would just have some ugly chunk of gold here and there on your lids.
  • If you don’t prime your lids, it would crease badly and if you have oily lids, you are gone for a toss without a base.
  • I find the mouth of the pot pretty small. I generally maintain long nails so every time I dip my finger to apply it, the colour gets into my nails. :pumpkin: A wider mouth would have made things a little easier.
  • I personally think that it goes on better with a smudger brush and then you can blend it with your fingers.
  • It is available only in 3 shades and other than Topaz, rest two shades are not even versatile options.

Lakme Eye Pot- Topaz

Overall I don’t have much complaints with the product. Infact I quite like the topaz colour. It definitely adds to my eye makeup collection. 🙂

Here is Lakme Eye Pot- topaz on my lids. I just applied MAC Painterly Paint Pot beneath the eyeshadow.

You give any lipstick and buy 2 lipsticks from Lakme and get Rs. 125 Off…But i read in the T&C that the product shud not be completely used etc…i wonder y wud anyone give away a lipstick until its finished or oc you completely dont like the color…I tried checking w the SA but they didnt seem to have a proper ans and I had liked only 1 lipstick anyways so didnt bother asking much…

They also have some other offers like 1 mirror free on purchase of 9 to 5 lipstick and some gift hampers on purchase of 1000Rs products etc ..

          1. Just remembered, they even have an offer on that….if you buy products worth Rs 500 you get a satin lipstick free 😉

I always wanted to try this…but somehow came across only the other 2…LOL and that put me off 🙂

    1. I would rather buy eye pencils for the other two shades. I wonder what was the point of coming up with such bright shades when the whole range constitutes of only 3 shades. ?:-)

      1. haha..true..esp when there are awesome colour selections in eye pencils.

Know what?? The Maybelline mousse bronzer is almost same…isn’t it?? need to check this out and then compare 🙂

    1. Ki : LOL…

And yeah..anything that goes to your trousseau can bear the unlimited tag

  5. Hey what timing.. Just yesterday my niece had her veggie ramp walk in school and i did her eye makeup with the eye pot in jade and it was looking so good.. i though i’ll do a review on it.
I use it with a vega eyeshadow brush and it does the job nicely as well. Will try a smudger brush next time. I even use it as an eyeliner to line my upper as well as lower lids.

    1. really!! you would have to send me bunch load of picyys now. 😛 Rado watch, eye makeup pics et al. I will try using it as an eyeliner. I use this shade for my inner corners. 🙂

  7. This is a really flattering color , even I use similar cream shadows as Brow highlight, inner corner and all over lid color:)
    but I didn’t buy it ..
    reasons
    1. Its LAKME 😀
2.I have similar Golden bronze cream shadows by by maybelline and Street wear
3.Its expensive, considering you have comparable products in market for much Lower price !!

But I agree , It is convenient for 5 minute make up looks 🙂

  8. Wow looks very nice! :-))

Just read your basic eye tips,
will try the green tea bags!

Do you apply eyeliner before or after eyeshadow?
(I’ve never tried the combination of eyeshadow and eyeliner)
.-= Sunaina´s last blog ..One dress, two looks =-.
