Today I am going to review the new launch lakme eyeconic in grey color. They are available in 5 new colors Blue, green, and brown and white, I bought white and grey one as I already have eyeliners in other shades. I really liked the lakme eyeconic kajal in black, as it was really smooth and creamy. Let’s find out how this one fares.

My Experience with Lakme Eyeconic Grey:

I am so glad with an Indian brand coming up with a variety of colors especially white. The packaging is similar to that of the regular eyeconic kajal. But the word Kajal is not mentioned anywhere on the packaging. The packaging is black and turquoise blue tube, which is twist up so no product wastage and the stick goes in its place properly, the packaging is sturdy and the cap fits properly. One can easily carry it around in a handbag. The only drawback is I wish the liners were the same colors as their shades, it would have been much easier to locate them, the name of the shade is written on the base. It does not have any particular smell or anything.

The color is a perfect dark grey and will suit all Indian skin tones, even dusky beauties; I like how the color is a dark Smokey grey and not too light. It is absolutely matte, Apart from black I feel brown and grey are the two colors that define the eyes really well, without adding a pop of color and completely work appropriate and an absolute must have for office goers. It gives a good color payoff in single swipe; if you like a dark color payoff then you might want to swatch it two to three times.
The texture is amazing, glides so smoothly just like the black one, except the color I suppose everything is the same. The pigmentation is good but not great, I mean it gives good color payoff in single swipe, but to get an opaque finish I have to swipe it two to three times. Once applied it sets within seconds and within that time one can easily smudge it out as well. And after setting it does not budge, it is completely waterproof and does not come off that easily, even after rubbing. I have been wearing it since past two days on waterline and lash line; it does not sting at all even on the waterline. I have slightly sensitive eyes and sometimes, the formulation is so strong that my eyes literally start watering and I have to remove that product immediately. This is absolutely safe people with sensitive eyes and also contact lens wearers can apply it on the waterline.

As far as the 10 hrs goes that’s not completely true, on my oily eyelids it stays for around 6-7 hours but it starts fading slightly after 4 hours on my upper lash line, so I am disappointed. And on my lash line it stays well for 4 hours after which it starts fading, badly so I have to set it with a eye shadow to make it last longer on lash line. Overall I really like it but it definitely is not very impressive on lasting power.

• 10 hours claim is false it stays for 4 hours on waterline after which starts fading

Do I recommend Lakme Eyeconic Grey?

They are not the best, but for the price they are not that bad as well, they are worth a shot.
