Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Crème Review

Hello IMBBians!

My dabbling with Lakme products shall never end, because of the amazing yellow toned products they manufacture, hence I`m back with their recently launched Face Magic Skin Tints Crème review. The SA at the counter mentioned that this product has been launched in place of the Silk Naturelle Foundation (which I was actually looking for), however they have repackaged it and priced it at 350 INR.

Claims:

Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Crème Claims

Price : 350 INR for 27 gms

Packaging: The squeezable packaging comes in a non-descriptive yellowish colour tube with a grey cap; nothing very special as such.

Texture: The texture is moderately runny, and watery – which is why it blends a bit patchily. The texture is good for summers, as it is not creamy – therefore sits well on combination to oily skin types.

Fragrance: The fragrance is the typical cucumber-ish Lakme sunscreen fragrance – which I`m not a big fan of.

Coverage: The coverage is extremely sheer, and cannot be built up at all. This is good if you want to use it on a regular basis for a no makeup look, however, I could not help but feel that this product is pretty useless after I thoroughly tested it out. Read on to find out the reasons.

I have compared the quantity and shade of the product with the Loreal BB cream (30ml) – which is really good for sensitive skin in winter. The Lakme shade (Marble) leans towards yellow, whereas the Loreal BB cream shade (G2 Gold) leans towards a more medium-beige tone.

My Take On The Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Crème :

After much rubbing in circular motion, when I could finally blend the watery product, it did look nice – and gave me a fresh glow, as its claims. However, the product washes off at the merest hint of water or sweat – which makes the staying power worse than any other face products I have used! I was laughing hysterically afterwards to see that the product had completely vanished from my face after half an hour, and so had the glow.

If it can’t even keep the glow, for which I had bought it in the first place, it really serves no purpose to womankind. It doesn’t even have a definite amount of sun protection! I can’t help but think that the Silk Naturelle foundation was oodles better than this product despite having a cheaper price tag. I wish lakme would not launch such duds for the Indian climate, cause if it isn’t waterproof, it is useful only for playing paintball with your friends.

Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Crème Comparison

The ingredient list is not mentioned, which is another drawback for me, because I like to scan the ingredient list thoroughly before trying out a product. This product is lightweight and won’t break anyone out though. So now, I use this product only as a tinted moisturiser, but I don’t reach out for this often, and I prefer a sunscreen instead. Do not buy this unless you want to have an unnecessary hideous yellow tube sitting in your kitty. If you really want to try good Lakme bases, try the CC cream, 9 to 5 range, or the Absolute range.

Pros of Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Crème :

• Looks natural because it has no coverage.
• Lightweight and watery texture.

Cons of Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Crème:

• Ah , where do I start. Firstly it`s not waterproof at all.
• No ingredient list mentioned.
• Has no specified amount of sunscreen in it.
• There are better tinted moisturisers out there.
• Is outrageously overpriced for a product which serves no purpose.

IMBB Rating: 1/ 5 (1 for the shade match. Lakme always gets the shades right among drugstore brands for Indian tones.)

    1. I was so disappointed 🙁 I wish I had bought the Silk Naturelle foundation instead from old online stocks , you know 🙁

    1. Dont buy this 😛 Try the absolute skin cover or the 9 to 5 foundation – they are waaaaaaay better than this watered down dud 😛

  1. Nice review! Looked like a great product when I started reading! Shame it’s a dud! And I can’t agree with you more when you said Lakme makes yellow skin tone based products that suit Indian skin tone! And I love lakme for that:)

    1. Thank you ^_^ Yeah the skin tone match is the reason why I always try out their bases , and their lip colours , hoping for a lucky match here and there 😛
