Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Souffle Review

Hello dearies,

I have a product that’s waiting to get reviewed since a very long time, but I always forget to put down the review. I have been using this product since the past 3 weeks, whenever I step out of the house, or even when I go for a walk or something.  Ever since I have stepped “into” the world of makeup, I haven’t stepped “out” of the house bare faced. Call it an addiction, but I love that look. Today’s product belongs to Lakme’s new “Skin Tints” range. There’s also a skin tints crème (which has already been reviewed on IMBB) and here I come with the souffle version. Let’s see how this worked for my combination skin.

My Experience with Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Souffle:

I am more into tinted moisturisers because my beauty world revolves around BB and CC creams. I got this souffle around 4-5 months ago, but because of its size, I never got around to noticing it. Finally, got it out a few weeks ago! The Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints is a new range and they have both crème and soufflé versions. The soufflé pot comes in silver box packaging which doesn’t look very pretty, but is decent enough. The soufflé comes in a glass pot which is see-through and pretty small and that makes it travel friendly, but it has to be handled with care since it is a glass pot. I am not too happy with the tub packaging because I do not like dipping my fingers into it every now and then!

They had 3 shades – marble, pearl and shell at the store, but I picked this one out because I thought it would suit my complexion well.

The consistency of the tint is runny and thin. It is like a lotion with flesh tint. I first thought of using it with a brush, but now, I have made a habit to use it with my fingers because the brush gives patchy strokes and that doesn’t look appealing! It blends beautifully with my fingers and gives a smooth finish. The blending part is super easy and it won’t take more than a minute.

However, I think the shade is a little darker than my skin tone, but that’s okay.  So, people who have extremely fair and flawless skin, this baby isn’t for you! It gives a very fresh and subtle glow to the skin, making it look brighter than usual.  Also, it brightens up my eye area very well.  It looks very natural and gives an illusion that it is my own skin. This tint gives a very light coverage which hides my redness and the dull complexion. It doesn’t even claim of providing any coverage, so I won’t nag about it. But it does not moisturise my skin and clings to dry patches which looks ugly. Hence I have to use a moisturiser each time. It stays for somewhere around 3-4 hours and then the complexion dulls out. Also, it isn’t waterproof. I can say that it is a decent one which the beginners can use or probably the college goers can apply for a natural glow, but I have used stuff that’s a lot better than this, so there is nothing that would make me stick to it.

Pros of Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Souffle:

  • Comes in a small tub which is very travel friendly.
  • Three shade variants are available, suitable for Indian skin tones.
  • Smooth and thin consistency, glides well on the skin.
  • Looks very natural on my face without looking heavy or cakey.
  • Brightens up my face and transforms my skin into a fresh-looking one.
  • Brightens my under eye area too, making it look less tired.
  • Imparts a glow to my skin.
  • Stays for about 3-4 hours, which is good considering the price.

Cons of Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Souffle:

  • Does not impart any coverage (doesn’t claim to do so).
  • It’s a little darker for my skin tone.
  • Tub packaging and that is why I have to keep dipping my fingers.
  • Melts off with water.
  • Has a cheap typical foundation fragrance.
  • Clings to dry patches on my face.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Lakme Face Magic Skin Tints Souffle?
No, I will not! Rather, the BB creams are better.

    1. Yes I know it was damn popular because of the glow it gave and such a natural finish.. but it highlights the dry areas that is the worst part about this 🙁 yes i think they revamped and changed the formula a bit 🙂 thank u sooo much 🙂 🙂

  1. Saloni, I have used this souffle, and quite liked it, but then, I think they have changed the formula quite a bit. Now, it’s different, hain na 🙂

    1. haaaaannnnnn they changed the name and i think a little of the formula too… plus a little change in the shades.. so we shouldn’t rely on the old shade names for this because that would make us get wrong ones 🙁 but now as we see, we have already used so many great products that there is no chance coming back to this! 🙂

  2. Even I had the older version when I was younger. Seems like my Colorbar BB cream works better than this. Not a fan of Lakme anyway.

    1. Yes we all have used it during the younger times .. it is almost similar but i see a little difference with this one.. like the other on used to keep me fresh all day but this oxidises a lot .. plus they don’t reveal ingredients 🙁

    1. Yes mariyam.. very cute and handy 🙂 yes i would rather prefer a bb cream which would give me the same glow with a little coverage.. yup we can’t take that risk right? lol.. they should have made it a little water resistant !
