I have always been very keen to buy myself a gloss addict lipstick even though there were mixed reviews about the lipstick. I had utilized the opportunity given by IMBB and picked up a shade called “Fine Wine.”

My Take on Lakme Fine Wine Absolute Gloss Addict Lipstick:
Packaging: It’s typical of the “Absolute” range packaging, the lipstick comes in a dark grey coloured cardboard box with silver accents. I am not much impressed with the see-through cap as it doesn’t impart that classy look. Lakme should have been better with the 800 bucks that they are charging.
Shade: Fine Wine is a deep berry pink with silver shimmer. The shimmer is very much visible in the bullet, but it does not get highlighted on the lips. It would suit almost all skin tones.
Texture and Pigmentation: The texture is very smooth and soft. It glides with ease on lips even if the lips are not exfoliated, but it will highlight dry patches. This particular shade is nicely pigmented and the true color can be achieved with multiple swipes. A single swipe will not give full coverage and pigmented lips will need multiple swipes, but it tends to bleed if layered.
The texture is balm-like and it is pretty moisturizing. The lipstick settles into a very pretty glossy finish and it feels like you’re wearing a gloss.
Staying Power: Because of the texture, it tends to transfer a lot. Re-application is needed if you have small meals in between. It lasts around 3+ hours with fading from the corners. Lasting power is average because of the texture.

- Some may find it too sheer for their liking.
- Overpriced.
- Staying power could have been better.
- Transfers.

I like the shade for its subtlety. There is so much shimmer visible in the bullet, but thank god they don’t show up on the lips. But, I would not like to spend 800 on a lipstick that transfers.
