I have reviewed the shade call Plum Perfect, now I saw this new maroon shade called Perfect Plum from the same range 😛 Anyway this is a maroon gel based shade, the other one was a pinky plum. Both shades are amazing, these are unlike the shade Rustic red which is a creamy shade. This feels like a gel based shade and almost like a refined lip balm.
This shade has almost invisible gold shimmer to it which I have tried to capture in the pictures. The shade is a wine maroon but since it is a so light, it does not look OTT at all. What I love is the way it makes lips supple and soft.It is ideal for thin lips and dry lips, it feels like a pigmented lip balm and gives you super color and supple lips.
The texture is supple, and soft, but it is not opaque, it feels like a super pigmented lip balm. It is not insanely pigmented, but the maroon plum shade does show up easily in two swipes. If you want to wear it to college you can swipe it on once. If you want a deeper maroon red kind of tint, then two swipes are you are done. This will cover pigmented lips in two swipes, otherwise it is slightly sheer, not very sheer.
The lipstick stays in place, though it is supple and glossy, but otherwise it will not bleed. The color could get messy with a meal, I wore it at 8:45 am and this was dulled down to a light balm like look at around 11:15 am. Staying power is fine but nothing great.
