Lakme Grape Lip Love Lip Care SPF 15 Review

Hey all!

Who doesn’t love new launches? Well, I do! These Lakme Lip Love Lip Care balms were introduced a few months back, and now they have come up with 2 more variants. I picked both up because I did not get any chance to buy the previous ones. These are darker colors that would suit my wee bit pigmented lips better. Let’s see how they fare!

My Experience with Lakme Grape Lip Love Lip Care SPF 15:

Packaging:
The lip balm comes in a beautiful, plum colored packaging. The lid is transparent with ‘Lip Love’ in cursive, and in white color. The lip balm twists up and down perfectly. To me, this lip balm looks like Elle 18 lipsticks. Both of them look the same with the balmy center. The lid is a bit flimsy, but overall I like the packaging as it’s nice and handy.

Color/Pigmentation:
‘Grape’ is a beautiful plum color that would look great on all skin tones. It imparts a beautiful color on the lips. It isn’t super pigmented but yes, you do get a nice tint on your lips. The color on my lip swatches is a bit light, but the wrist swatch is exactly the color it imparts. I really love the light tint that this one gives. It’s perfect for days when you don’t want to apply your lipstick, but still want some color. Love it!

Texture:
It’s super creamy and smooth. It’s so creamy that the lip balm bullet broke while I was applying on my lips. πŸ™ It already had a crack in it which went unnoticed by me and when I started applying, it just broke in two pieces. Anyway, coming to the moisturization part, this balm does a pretty good job at that. When your lips are super dry and you apply it, it works instantly. It soothes your dry and parched lips and provides enough moisture. It doesn’t hydrate but when you wipe off the lip balm, your lips would still have some moisture. The texture is light, so no matter how many layers you pile on, your lips won’t feel heavy.

Staying Power:
Without meals, this lip balm lasted on me for about 3 hours. Like any lip balm, this needs frequent reapplication. But your lips won’t feel uncomfortable when the lip balm’s gone, so you could get away for 5 hours post application.

Smell/Taste:
It does have a sweet grape fragrance which is mild and doesn’t linger once you apply on the lips. It has no taste, whatsoever.

  1. Nice review Priyanka πŸ™‚ This sounds like a decent product. I’m struggling to finish MaybellIne color bloom lip balm. It makes me feel tht there’s something on lips πŸ™
I will get this after I’m done with d current one πŸ™‚

    1. I’ve never tried the Bloom ones because somehow the idea of color changing lip balms doesn’t appeal to me very much.
Do try this one. πŸ™‚ It’s light so you won’t feel like you’ve applied a lip balm πŸ™‚

  2. I am so gonna try this range as I am anyway running out of my fav lip balms, and have not tried anything new lately. These are pretty shades that are wearable too.

    1. You should try this Shikha di! The colors are such that it suits dark lips too. Most of the lip balms don’t look that good on my semi pigmented lips, but these do! πŸ™‚

    1. I recently read your review on Lakme foundation that you covered years ago where you said you would never buy anything from Lakme :p Hehe, but yes, these are good πŸ™‚ Thank you Rati Di! πŸ™‚

  3. I have been using Maybelline baby lips since they are launched in India. I never tried anyother lip balm. Now a days, I m using MUA lip balms but I am not liking them much. I have not tried any lip balms from this range, so definitely going to pick some. πŸ™‚

  4. I got these two shades just today πŸ˜€ They are very good and I think lakme has a done finally a better job with these Lakme lip love beauties which is awesome for lip balm

      1. yea infact I was surprised to find myself to be liking cocoa as I was quite apprehensive about the shade. Tried both with an open mind but lucky that both turned out to be good and definitely better than the earlier ones πŸ™‚
