Lakme M421 Enrich Satin Lipstick Review

Product Purchased by IMBB

Hey everyone,

Hope you all are doing well. As for me, my LL.B exams are finally over and even my course and I am pretty excited about the fact that I would be a lawyer by the end of this year. So, now that I have a world of free time to myself I can resume my passion for writing again and since I have a lot of pending reviews you’ll see me here more often. Coming to today’s review, it’s a Lakme Enrich Satin Lipstick again and this time it’s in the shade M421. This is also a part of the IMBB Sponsored haul and needless to say, I am pretty excited to write about it. So, let’s see how this shade fared.

My Experience with Lakme M421 Enrich Satin Lipstick:

As we all know by now, Lakme has given a facelift to this ever so old range of lipsticks and now it comes in a sleeker and younger looking packaging. The age old maroon/ brown plastic case has been replaced by a see through round case which makes it easier to locate the shade in the stash by just looking at the cap or the top part. The case click locks tightly and is thus quite good for travelling with. The lipstick has a typically sweet fragrance that most of us are familiar with by now, but it could be annoying for girls who are new to makeup or this brand; so do catch a whiff of this at the store before buying.

Coming to my favourite part, which is obviously the shade. I would describe it as a deep toned plum/berry shade that looks superrrr glamourous on dusky skin tones. Such shades are quite a statement these days and I love the way it instantly brightens up the face. Like I have said before, I am pretty lazy about doing eye makeup and I mostly tend to work my look around my lips. So, for evenings and other formal gatherings, this has pretty much become my go-to lippy lately. It has a little gothic touch to it which makes me love it all the more as I am really drawn to bold shades lately.

Texture wise, I would say that I am falling more deeply in love with this range with every passing day. It’s super smooth and creamy to apply and is really moisturising. So yayyy for that as the lipbalm can totally be skipped. It doesn’t bleed despite being a deep shade and no lip liner is required underneath. However, I have a word of caution for you here; with this particular shade, I experienced breakage from the base and that is quite heart breaking, more importantly when the lipstick is absolutely new. So, to avoid further damage, I have started using a lip brush with this lipstick.

In terms of pigmentation, Lakme has yet again done a great job as the shade is crazily pigmented this time and one swipe is all it takes to get a full blown intensely saturated colour on the pout which I feel is commendable for a drugstore brand. The staying power is pretty decent as well. It stays for a good 2 – 3 hours on the lips, and that is good enough for a creamy lipstick. It fades off eventually leaving behind a rosy stain that stays for a couple of hours more. It has a tendency to transfer which I feel is common to all creamy finish lipsticks, but given the beauty of this shade I am ready to overlook that bit.

IMBB Rating:

I am pretty much in love with this revamped range of Enrich Satin lipsticks from Lakme and this particular shade is no exception. Quality wise, lately they are doing a good job and I am glad that this time around most of the shades are without those much dreaded shimmers. This range has a lotttt of reds and wines and if you are a fan of such shades, do give this range a shot. I promise you’ll love it!

  1. That’s a really bold shade Ankita. You have a statement lipstick collection it seems. Love the fact that Lakme has finally parted ways with those shimmers.

  2. This is one crazily pigmented lippie!!! This is bound to give you a statement look Ankita 🙂 This kind of shades become my favourite during winter.
