Lakme Perfect Radiance Multi Mineral Skin Lightening Compact Review, Shades

Lakme Perfect Radiance Multi Mineral Skin Lightening Compact Review, Shades

Price : Rs. 150

Quantity : 8g

My very first review on IMBB was the Lakme Perfect Radiance Skin Lightening Foundation. Now I am reviewing the Compact which has recently been launched in the stores.

LAKME PERFECT RADIANCE MULTI-MINERAL SKIN LIGHTENING COMPACT

I bought this in the lightest shade Ivory Fair 01. This shade is a warm color (has a yellowish tinge). I was contemplating on getting the next shade Rose Fair 02, which was a cool shade (had a pinkish tinge), but since these days I am using about 2 shades darker than my facial complexion (in order not to look very ghostly white, and in order to try and match the warm undertones on my neck, and also in order to lend some healthy-looking colour to my face AND also in order to cover up the redness on my cheeks). This advice : courtesy the MUA at MAC. But let’s get on with this review. I would most probably also be purchasing the Rose Fair shade or even the next shade after that, as I still have quite a few Ivory shades of foundation which I want to use up before buying a foundation in a shade or two darker, and I want to use darker compact over these Ivory foundations. Am I making sense?

This Lakme compact is available in about 5 or 6 shades, and you will find shades to suit both warm and cool undertones. I think I would be alternating between using the Ivory Fair shade and the Rose Fair shade as I found the Ivory Fair shade to be a bit too yellowish for me, but that’s just my personal opinion.

What I like about Lakme Perfect Radiance Compact :

  • Good choice of shades available, to suit both warm and cool undertones.
  • It claims to be containing Multi-Minerals, which are obviously good for our skin.
  • It also says that it is Oil-Free, which is great. (The Lakme Perfect Radiance Skin-Lightening Foundation is not Oil-Free at all, but I guess that’s because it’s supposed to lend a glow to the skin.) True to this compact’s claim, I really found it to be Oil-Free.
  • It is soft and smooth.
  • It contains sunscreen of SPF 20.
  • It contains Brightening Pearls, though I didn’t see any obvious traces of any kind of shimmer, but it feels nice to wear something that is supposed to brighten up your complexion.
  • It contains Vitamin B3, which with regular use, is supposed to lighten the skin tone over time.
  • I find it suitable for everyday use.
  • Lasts a good 4 to 5 hours without re-touching.
  • Provides medium to full coverage.
  • Didn’t cause any allergies or break-outs.
  • It comes with a mirror attached.

What I don’t like about Lakme Perfect Radiance Compact :

  • I don’t like that is very highly fragranced – it’s smell is very strong and almost like a talcum powder. This may cause allergies and sensitivities in some people.
  • I don’t like the powder puff that comes with it. A sponge applicator would have been better to attain good coverage and smooth finish. (I have been using a separate sponge applicator hence you can see the powder puff is unused).
  • I have to say yet again that Lakme has still not updated their website with details of this product. The anticipation would have been great if they had done so, at least we would have been looking forward to this product’s launch before it flooded the markets.

This would get 4 stars from me as I’m really liking it, as well as all other new products from Lakme this year.

I would definitely be buying Lakme Radiance Compact in other shades as well, as there is a good variety to choose from this time.

Other shades in Lakme Radiance SKin Lightnening Compact:

  4. Gdaftrnoon IMBBians,

Thnx a lot for the review’s Sabrina.

Yday evng bought the Lakme Perfect Radiance Skin Lightening Foundation & Lakme Perfect Radiance Multi Mineral Skin Lightening Compact in shade – 02 Rose Fair.

N i’m liking both a lot. I too don’t like the powder puff that comes with it.

May b Maybelline Wonder Finish will hv to wait or i’l get it from kolkata next week if i find d right shade.

  5. The foundation’s price is definitely on d higher side, but i’v this in my mind that if i use compact of lakme then foundation shd b lakme too.
Earlier had Lakme Daily Soufle n Lakme Radiance Compact in Natural Marble.

Now also using Lakme Fruit Moisture – Skin Renewal Night Cream & Honey & Avocado Winter Perfect Day Cream (thnx to Rati’s review) n loving both of them too.

I find both of this suiting me, so just hoping they lower the price of foundation or increase the quantity by the time i finish both of these.

  6. Thanks a ton for the review, Sabrina. I am surely picking this up soon. :)) I checked out the shades yesterday and I liked the variations they have made. I dont think Lakme has gone wrong with their compacts. i used to use their radiance compact, the older one and used to like it pretty much. This time also they have done a decent job. 🙂

  7. :inlove: funky nail paint sabrina looooveee eeet!! :inlove:

the compact sounds pretty nice and its oil free yeayyy! il try this one out when my current colorbar one gets over 🙂

  8. I love your reviews Sabrina, so informative
And I know how much time one´s have to invest in cutting down pictures etc.

This looks like an very interesting product but after you mentioned the smell I will not try to get it somewhere, since Talcum itself is not a very good ingredient and furthermore I don´t like heavy smelling makeup products at all 😛

And, hopefully I am not boring you (or anybody else) with my regular colour-type suggestions :shame:   : You should go for products for cool skin type undertones. Since I saw only flushed pictures of you, which are defective for colour type identification, it´s not a 100%-claim … but I am quite sure you are a summer colour type :-* :-* :-*

Thanks a lot for sharing your impressions on the Compact with us.

    1. Thank you very much, Tatjana. I sure appreciate that you like my reviews. I don’t think this product contains talc as an ingredient, it’s just quite highly-scented. If you would like to have this, or any other Lakme product, do let me know, I can send it to you, no problem. And thanks for the suggestion on the cool undertones. See, my face is pinkish fair, with a lot of redness and open pores, but my neck is yellowish and no redness at all, so I am in the quest forever to know what to wear on my face!! Thanks again for your suggestion.

      1. Most powders contain talc, even the high-end ones.
But there are no ingredients on the product … so maybe it does not contain it…

“pinish fair” is another indication for summer coulour type as well. 🙂
A lot of foundations use yellowish tones to correct this, like f.e. the MAC foundations. Works for some beauties, but it´s still better to work with a green corrector beneath, so you can aplly yellowish tones – which are most often not warm (see MAC NC or C stuff). It has to match your skin colour, that´s all about :-))

Thanks a lot for the personal shopping order – I´ll let you know if I need something :-* :-* :-*

  9. I think i will be honey in this.. And it makes perfect sense to use darker compact over your regular foundation, as you will be able to control the amount of colour better. :-)) :-))

The packaging and pricing are both attractive. Would definitely love to try this, provided the shades match. :-))

Lovely lovely review Sabrina,, And I am totally :inlove: :inlove: with your nails.

  10. Oh the asterisks is for in-vitro study…SPF 20*…was wondering about it, had asked another blogger this and she deleted my comment and the asterisks! Guess I ask really irritating questions ?:-) ?:-)

  11. wow, imbb is all new now 🙂 and the crazy smilies too

sabrina i got the medium beige 🙂 this is so nice :haanji:
did anyone used the lakme day cream from this range ?
and s the applicator is like the one we get wt baby powders 🙁

  12. Hey I used to use the natural pearl shade for the normal lakme compact but I bought the rose fair in this prefect radiance range…because my skin is a little pinkish…which is better for me? Ivory fair or the rose fair I bought??

  13. this product is amazing ,i thought to bye the ivory pink shade but i have a very fair skin tone and it is yellowish so i decided to get the rose fair it made my skin look a bit dark but when i applied it over a foundation my skin looked really good…………i got compliments……..too but i dont like applying foundation so next time i will get ivory fair.and my skin sweats a lot and before the compact i used to apply powder over moisturiser but now this compact does not mix with the sweat it stays on even if i wipe my face with a tissue………its great better than any other compact

  14. I’ll try this one.I’ve been using the Maybelline Whitestay Compact,shade-light ivory.
which shade of this do you think would suit my complexion? :nerd:
