Skin tone: fair
Many brands are launching matte lipsticks this season. That’s a great news for matte lovers like me. So I just picked a few shades to try them out. I’m writing the detailed review of the shade RM11 (no names!) which is a brown. I stepped out of my comfort zone and picked shades that I normally wouldn’t even look at.
Price: 295 INR for 4.7g
My Experience with Lakme RM 11 Enrich Matte Lipstick:
Packaging: Like the regular enrich satins lipsticks these aren’t color coded either. Although there is a slight difference between the satins and matte versions, here the silver tube is matte finish. There is also a change in the logo of the brand. It becomes difficult to spot a particular shade and there aren’t names allotted either. Who’d remember which shade is what!? I don’t. Packaging is sturdy and good looking otherwise.
Shade: This shade, RM 11 is a nice brown with maroon hints. It is indeed dark, but wearable when paired with the right makeup. It is definitely not for the faint hearted as I feel it is a little bold. Thankfully, no shimmers! (You know Lakme!)
Texture and pigmentation: Well, the texture is not one of the greatest things of this lipstick. It is a true matte but it does not feel like a crayon matte. It doesn’t tug as much, provided your lips are exfoliated but it tends to highlight the dry areas. Having said that, the formula isn’t very forgiving on dry lips. Pigmentation is good but not great; for a dark shade I won’t complain as it is buildable. It’ll easily cover lip pigmentation. However, one thing I noticed is that application goes patchy; couldn’t figure it out why. A big complain with the ‘Enrich satins and matte’ is its weirdest smell, makes me go ‘eww’ and it lingers on forever!
Lasting power: Good thing is that it transfers minimally, doesn’t make a mess on cups and spoons. It lasts for about 5 hours leaving a tint behind after that which wasn’t very difficult to remove. It fades from the corners and the middle which looks uneven and it also settles in fine lines. Since this is a matte formula, lips need to be moisturized before application else it makes lips very dry afterwards.
I kind of like this shade a lot! The formula may not be the best but it is okay. Lakme has made the price steeper than the Enrich Satins which and made me go ‘duh’! Nonetheless it is affordable compared to others in the market so definitely a plus. I’d really want to check out more shades. In the FOTD, I have worn the lipstick with nothing else but purple eyeliner and some color on my cheeks so that all attention would be on the lips.

I love this shade despite the texture. I’d definitely recommend this brown to beginners. No to repurchase but would love to try other shades. Ciao!
