LAKME STUDIO partners with Anand Kabra to introduce Sleek the New Mystique at Lakme Fashion Week – Summer/Resort 2011
Mumbai, February 24, 2011: Inspiring contemporary Indian women to create their own sleek aura, Lakme Studio will partner with Anand Kabra, to introduce Sleek, The New Mystique – the hair style that is set to dominate hair looks for 2011. Continuing in the tradition of celebrating the inextricable link between hair and fashion, Lakmé Studio is back for the third season in a row with a special show with Anand Kabra. Lakmé Studio’s Sleek, The New Mystique will be hosted on March 12, 2011 at Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2011.
Lakme Studio’s collaboration with Anand Kabra demonstrates the partnership between hair and fashion and perfectly illustrates the bond between hair stylist and designer. Lakme Studio’s hair experts, who’ve been trained by the TIGI International Creative team, will create looks from the Sleek Mystique hair style Look Book for the show. An exciting addition will be the new look that will be presented at the show. These looks will integrate with Anand’s vision of the modern Indian woman and will weave a beautiful story around five characteristics that define a woman today.

Speaking on the collaboration, designer Anand Kabra says, “One word that has unceasingly described Indian women, is the word Mystique. A sense of mystery, a magnetism, that emanates from within. That mystique has always found outward expression in what she wears and how she wears it. Traditionally this allure was found in the casual drape of a woman’s saree and silky lustrous hair. Anand Kabra’s collection, Sleek: The New Mystique will showcase collections for the five sensational hair looks by Lakme Studio. Each collection will focus on one intrinsic quality of a woman. The garments with have a range of ethnic and futuristic influences to suit each hair look. The collections will play with silhouettes, weaves and edgy embellishments alongside bohemian prints in earthy tones and international cuts.
