Lakme Free Spirit D416-Manish Malhotra Nail Paint and NOTD

Hi everyone :pompom:

My recent love for red nail paints made me pick up the shade which I am going to review today. It is “Lakme Free Spirit D416 -Manish Malhotra”. My stint with red nails started when I ordered Amway’s wine berry, it was a beautiful crimson red shade which made my hands look brighter and I instantly fell in love with it.

While shopping recently, I stumbled upon this lakme nail paint, I couldn’t resist myself from buying it for two reasons first because of my latest love for the colour and second I saw the name of the fashion designer whose creations I admire a lot  Instantly I picked this one up. Let us take a detailed review of the same:

Product being reviewed: “Lakme Free Spirit D416-Manish Malhotra”

What the website says:

What is it? Long Lasting, chip resistant nail paint

How it works?
• Contains resins to strengthen nails and prevent breakage.
• Has colour lock technology
• Gives lacquer like finish.

Shades Available: Around 50 shades are available, can be checked on lakme’s website.

Quantity/ Price/ Packaging:

INR 90 for 9 ml. It comes in a sturdy glass bottle which is squarish (don’t know if that word exists at all :stars:), has a beige coloured cap and lakme is embossed on the glass bottle in golden colour. It is quite a standard lakme nail paint packaging.

My take on the product:

From the bottle it appears to be a crimson red colour, the consistency is quite good considering that even the single application gives full coverage. The brush is of a good quality and it is not at all streaky. I applied two coats (as I do with all my nail paints) to get the actual colour on my nails but to my disappointment it turned such a deep red that it seemed more of a maroon instead of red. It dries very fast say within 2-3 minutes of application which is quite good otherwise it turns out to be a messy affair of spoiling the nail paint and the hard work which goes into putting it 😛 The nail paint does not chip for a good 4-5 days after which only a little bit of chipping that too on the tips of one or two nails can be seen.

It gives glossy look to the nails and would suit fair skin the most though reds and maroons look good on all skin colours.

Pros of Lakme Free Spirit D416-Manish Malhotra Nail Paint:
1. Comes in a sturdy bottle.
2. Single coat is sufficient for the colour to show up nicely on the nails, two coats further deepens it.
3. Does not chip for 4-5 days.
4. Dries fast on the nails.
5. Huge array of shades selection.
6. Reasonably priced.

Cons of Lakme Free Spirit D416-Manish Malhotra Nail Paint:

1. The colour in the bottle doesn’t come out the same on the nails.

Will I repurchase?

I think I will try other shades as well since it is quite decently priced for the quantity and the quality.
