Lancome City Miracle CC Cream Review

Lancome City Miracle CC Cream Review

Hi Beauties,

The best way to have beautiful skin is by taking proper care of your skin. This includes adequate hydration, adequate sleep, timely intake of fiber-rich food, regular bowel habits, regular CTM (including use of scrubbing and appropriate face masks), using a sunscreen (at least SPF of 30); and to avoid everyday use of loads of makeup and chemical products on the skin. Our skin also needs to breathe; and applying light makeup for everyday work purposes quickens our job, makes our face look presentable and also allows the skin to breathe.  I like to take care of my skin very judiciously; and as I have often said, sunscreen is my favourite skin care product. I love multi-functional products; so that my skin is not loaded with many skin products. I recently reviewed the Estee Lauder Cyberwhite HD Advanced Brightening BB creme with SPF 50 and it has become my go-to product.  Similarly, I heard the launch of this product in July 2014, and my interest was immediately aroused. I do not use foundations every day; and love using BB and CC creams for daily work. And if the CC cream is loaded with SPF 50/ PA+++, it becomes what is called as “sone pe suhaga.” Today, I will be reviewing this newly-launched CC cream by Lancome.

My Experience with Lancome City Miracle CC Cream:

Lancome has marketed this product very well. They claim to have tested this product on women living in some of the most polluted cities in the world and claim that it is able to resist daily stresses and prevent complexion greying.  My skin type is normal to combination, which turns dry in winter and combination in summers.  I am NC 30-35 in MAC.  For the first time in my life, I have come across such a product which suits Indian complexions so well. Lancome is a French brand; and belongs to the L’Oreal group.  I have seen many international brands; whose products are too fair with pink undertones; to be suitable for most Indian population. Lancome released this CC cream, which also contains an SPF of 50. But the most interesting part is; that the lightest shade suits my skin tone to the T. I personally think, that Indian people having skin tone between NC 25 to NC 40 will need the lightest shade of this CC creme.  Anyone else darker will be matched to shade 02. Shade 03 is extremely dark, and will be suitable only for people of colored origin.

Lancome City Miracle CC Cream

The product comes inside a silver color box packaging, which is extremely prone to fingerprints. The cream resides in a peach color squeezable tube, having a silver cap, and a very small hole. The tube looks simple, yet very sophisticated.  The product has a slightly thick texture and a small amount will suffice for face and neck area.  It comes out as a peachy colored product; which may look too orangish on very fair skin tone people.  The fragrance is good; but extremely mild. Since it has an SPF of 50/PA+++, an additional sunscreen will not be needed along with this. The thick texture works very well for oily skin type, providing a matte finish. However, people with dry skin will definitely need a moisturizer underneath, or you may mix some moisturiser along with this CC cream for a fresh, dewy look; or else it will drag during application and will be difficult to blend properly. I find it better to blend it with my fingers; rather than using a brush or a sponge.

Lancome City Miracle CC Cream

The product, if blended well, provides a very good silky feel on the skin. Coverage is pretty good for a CC cream. It blurs out pores, fine lines and slight blemishes, providing a smooth, seamless, radiant, natural and matte look. It will not cover any major blemishes; that is the work of foundations and concealers. However, it is good enough for everyday use; when you are having a no-makeup day; and the coverage is exactly like that of many low-coverage foundations.

Lancome City Miracle CC Cream

I am not a big fan of matte products, I prefer a dewy look better, especially in winters. However, I will admit that this one is a high-performing and super protective CC cream, with lots of useful ingredients. I actually love this one during the hot and humid months now without any moisturiser underneath; and will have to add some moisturiser during the winter months.

Would I Repurchase Lancome City Miracle CC Cream?

No, this is a bit too expensive, and is better for oily skin people. This product is perfect for people who have very mild blemishes on their face and do not like to use foundations on an every day basis. This will work better than any other BB creme. Since the weather is hot and humid now, I am not facing any problems; but come winters and I might have to take the help of a moisturiser too.. Besides, I love my Estee Lauder BB crème; and if I need some more coverage, I might as well use my favourite MAC Face and Body Foundation.

    1. Thanks padma…. Actually had a disaster with this one… Got a sample of shade 2… I was looking like a complete monkey…. Thankfully got shade 1…. And this one really matches me…. Only that it is better for oily skin… I got it in august when weather was hot and humid…. But may need a moisturiser underneath once winters come

  5. I love this product. I have oily, acne prone skin and sensitive skin. This cream felt light on the skin and coverage is similar to that of MAC Studio fix. After a couple of hours my face did start looking oily again but that happens with whatever I use. What I like is how smoothly it glides over the skin, does not feel dry and covers the imperfections. I dabbed it like a concealer on pimple scars and it blended beautifully.
