Lancôme is one of my favourite luxury brands. I love their lipsticks and lip glosses. In this post, I will be reviewing Lancôme L’absolu Rouge in the shade “317 Pour Quoi Pas.” So, let’s see how this lipstick fared for me.

My Experience with Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Hydrating Shaping Lip Color 317 Pourquoi Pas?”

Packaging: The packaging of Lancome L’Absolu Rouge Lip Color is absolutely beautiful and unique. I admit I bought this lipstick mainly for its packaging. The lipstick bullet comes housed in a black plastic tube. The mechanism to open the cap is quite unique. You need to press the Lancôme rose logo button on top of the tube to get the lipstick out. The brand name “Lancôme” is specified on the side of the tube. It’s a lightweight packaging and at the bottom of the lipstick tube, the shade name “Pour quoi Pas” is mentioned. The lipstick comes in an outer silver cardboard box with ingredients list mentioned on it. Overall, teh packaging is very luxurious, sturdy and travel friendly.

Shade and Finish: “Pour Quoi Pas” is a beautiful light pink shade lipstick. It leans a little bit towards being a Barbie pink shade. This lipstick is a perfect everyday shade and will suit light to medium skin tones. It is very comfortable to wear. The finish is very creamy glossy and the lipstick glides on the lips easily.

Texture and Application: The texture of this lipstick is creamy with high shine formula. The lipstick has got sheer pigmentation. It feels very lightweight on the lips. The lipstick is infused with vitamin E and that gives a lot of nourishment to my dry lips. This lipstick is very easy to apply. I use a lip liner and then fill in the lipstick. Due to its creamy texture, it does smear outside the lips very easily. It gives a plump and fuller look to my lips. The lipstick has a faint floral scent to it which is not overpowering.

Pigmentation and Coverage: L’Absolu range lip colors come in three finishes – High Shine, Matte and Satin. Pour quoi Pas lipstick falls in the high shine range. It has sheer pigmentation and looks very glossy on the lips.

Staying Power: The staying power is really good with lipstick. It stays on my lips for around 4 to 5 hours. The lipstick leaves a light stain behind after the shine of the lipstick is gone. Also, it can be easily taken off with a regular makeup remover.
