How are you doing today? I am excited for this month as I have shopped for so many Indian traditional wear and accessories this time. I just can’t wait for my items to arrive so that I can flaunt them. Yay! Anyway, I am also here to share another shade of Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil, which is not my ‘oh so favorite’ product. I wish it were a little forgiving for my sensitive eyes. So let’s read in detail about Lancome Noir Intense Drama Liqui-Pencil Extreme Longwear Eyeliner.
What it is:
An extreme, long-wear, high-intensity color liqui-pencil eyeliner.
What it does:
This eyeliner has the high intensity color of a liquid liner and the ease of application of a pencil. Glide on smooth color while giving eyes maximum color intensity and all-day wear. Featuring a creamy, instantly blendable formula, it sets quickly for 24-hour wear—without budging or fading.
$23 for 0.042 oz, excludes shipping & taxes

My Experience with Lancome Noir Intense Drama Liqui-Pencil Extreme Longwear Eyeliner:
The long wear creamy liners are available in sleek, long sharpenable pencil packaging with a safety cap; I miss the sharpener though. Overall it’s quite user friendly & travel friendly deal. Coming over to the shade, “Noir Intense”, is a deep matte black shade which is definitely the blackest black in this range as well as among various black liners by Lancome. But this does not convince us to get it back because the texture and formula is real tricky on our waterline. I also mentioned it earlier that this liner seems to be stinging my eyes when worn closer to or on my waterline.
I cannot see better utility of black liners than tightlining or wearing on the water line for intense look. But it is not feasible with this liner as it stings pretty bad on our waterline, or even while touching our eyes. At times I have also noticed a cloudy, gloomy vision after wearing it on eyes which seems slight scary. However, no doubt it offers soft and creamy application that never tugs or pulls on my skin. Even it applies so evenly on skin; its tip is really soft and frequently needs sharpening but it gives really intense color payoff with just 1-2 swipes. I find it slightly tricky for lining my upper lashes due to its soft and creamy tip.
I mean with little practice, even gel liners feel comfortable and give precise and fine lines; but with these pencil liners, I don’t think I would ever get that finish or precision. It is certainly better than usual pencil liners as it gives pretty close finish to that of any semi-liquid, gel liner more or less. I have seen that it stays put for good 7-8 hours on my eyes with a primer, but after that it tends to fade a little. It never smudges or transfers onto my oily skin though. Even wearing it on lower lash line never gives me raccoon eyes even though it does stings my eye area.
Whatsoever, it is certainly not for beginners considering the formula and texture, plus that scary stinging sensation. I think we have very limited usage of this pencil and for me black liners are simply meant to tightline, or to get kohled effect – which is really tricky with this liner. I won’t get it again while I recommend it to gals if they can keep it away from the waterline or lower lash line.
Let’s sum up pros and cons:
Pros of Lancome Noir Intense Drama Liqui-Pencil Extreme Longwear Eyeliner:
• A lightweight, intensely pigmented liner with liquid liner finish, more or less
• It is way intense and matte
• It gives intense black color payoff with just 1-2 swipes
• It is soft on our eyes and slides easily without tugging or pulling
• It does stay for long on my oily eyelids
• It does not smudge easily and is completely waterproof
• It does not transfer onto my skin
Cons of Lancome Noir Intense Drama Liqui-Pencil Extreme Longwear Eyeliner:
• The tip is soft & creamy which makes it tricky for the lash line
• It stings badly on the waterline or even while I wear it close to my lower lash line
• Doesn’t stay as long as they claim
• Frequent sharpening leads to wastage
• I find it tricky to attempt a cat eye or winged liner with such a soft tip
• Seems pricey considering its limited usage and frequent wastage
Well honestly, I don’t find it suitable for my sensitive eyes because I am habitual of using products close to the lash line, which seems tricky with this liner. However it is decent for people who know how to make it work. May be I am too amateur to use this liner, but I am not getting it again.
