Late Mornings Makeup Essentials

Hey Girls,

Rushed out the door this morning with a bare face and empty stomach? Slept in and you’ve got something important today? You need to look presentable, but you’ve only got enough time to spare for oral hygiene, clothing yourself and if you’re lucky, a cup of coffee. You’d have to go through your whole makeup routine in your car and perfecting that flick isn’t going to be easy with the limited time you’ve got to spare in the parking lot.

Late Morning Makeup Essentials

I’ve had those mornings during my high school years and internship and I’m pretty sure you’ve had those mornings too. With all my experience, here’s my way of looking presentable without leaving a trace of the morning events when I get out of the car.

When I’ve slept in and I’m probably crazy late, I’ve always got a ‘late mornings’ makeup bag ready for me to just grab and go. It’s always great to have one prepared and you’ll never have to fret about going through your whole makeup routine in the parking lot. It’ll be minimal, simple and sheer and you’ll still look amazing.

Sunscreens and Primers

Sunscreens are a must and you’ve always got to have one with you. No matter how late you are, you’ve got to protect yourself from UV rays. Since this makeup will be minimal and sheer, it probably wouldn’t last too long without a primer. Throw a primer in and you wouldn’t have to worry about your makeup sliding off or fading off at the end of the day.

Compact BB/CC Cushions

I’m sure you’ve heard of this and it’s been a trend for the past 3 years or so. A tiny compact with a sponge soaked in BB/CC cream and an air puff for an applicator. They’re affordable, travel friendly and totally ideal for speed makeup and touch ups. Most BB/CC cushions are also moisturizing and suitable for those with dry skin.

Apply a thin layer all over your face with a quick patting motion and build up your coverage from there. However if you prefer a more youthful look or you want to allow your skin to breathe, you can apply it on your T-Zone, the inner parts of your cheeks and upper lip. You can also skip on your concealer and apply another layer on areas that you want to conceal. Most BB/CC cushions cover redness and dark circles well. It also works fine on dark spots.

Nude Eyeshadow Compact

When you’ve got no time to spare, a nude eyeshadow compact will be a lifesaver. Skip applying color on your lids, you’ve got no time for that. Throw in a tiny liner brush and you won’t have to worry about that perfect flick. Powder is easy to work with and it lasts all day long.

Apply a little on your lash line and flick it a little at the end. Don’t apply thickly as it’ll look weird, apply it thinly. While it won’t enlarge your eyes significantly, it’ll have a subtle difference.

Mascara

Never leave your lashes at home! Even if you’ve got no eyeliner on, always have this in your makeup bag. Mascara is like a push-up bra for your lashes. You’ve got no time to curl so just apply a thin coat to open up your eyes. Skip your bottom lashes and leave em’ natural. If you end up with spidery lashes, it’s fine. It’s better to have spidery lashes rather than none at all.

Highlighter and Bronzer Duo

You wouldn’t want to leave any traces of tiredness and dull skin is your worst nightmare. A duo saves tons of time and if you can find a trio that comes with a blush, you’re lucky!

With an angled face brush, bring out your cheekbones, make your jaw line more defined and give yourself a slimmer face with the bronzer. Also, give your skin a healthy glow with the highlighter by applying it to the bridge of your nose, forehead and cheekbones.

Don’t get too stressed in the morning! Have a good one girls! 🙂

  1. Good post 🙂
I sometimes work in early morning shifts so I carry the stuff (must haves – sunscreen, kajal, lip balm) to office and get ready there 😛

  2. Great post Natasha. 🙂
I don’t generally wear makeup, except Mascara. It really makes a difference.

  3. nice list.
But even this would be somewhat time consuming for me on late days…lol

I just do the basics on such days- sunscreen with moisturizer + compact + kajal + lipbalm/gloss
    And I’m sorted 😀

  4. Although I am not a makeup person, I think I can use these on days I want to…and if it does not take a lot of time, it is a blessing! 🙂

  5. Love the eye-shadow tip. I should buy the natural shades. 🙂 my quick must haves (if I have only 10 mins or so) – tinted moisturizer, concealer, loose powder, black eye pencil, pink or brown lip balm.
