My Experience with Laura Geller Brandy Color Drenched Lip Gloss:

The lip gloss comes in a traditional transparent plastic tube packaging with a black cap attached to doe foot applicator. It does have an unpleasant smell, but it fades soon post application. Overall, I find it quite user friendly & travel friendly.

My shade, Brandy, is a gorgeous juicy rosy brown shade, something I would like to wear throughout winters. It complements my skin tone very well with its creamy, juicy sheen. The shade appears to be a dark marsala in hand swatches, but it looks very mild on lips, like an MLBB shade. The texture of this gloss is very similar to Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stains. Laura Geller lip glosses maintain the juicy, creamy sheen as long as they stay on the lips.

However, this particular shade has the tendency to slightly sit on lip lines which might be tricky for a while, but it still looks fine. It is a creamy gloss with a bit uneven finish on lips initially, thereafter the glossy shine fades into a creamy juicy sheen. However, I feel the texture of this juicy creamy gloss is such that it neither sticks nor bleeds, yet it does not look very smooth on my lips.

bottle

Thankfully the gloss is not very tacky; it is manageable even with a bit of streaky finish. I see that it usually forgives minor dryness and light pigmentation of my lips, being an intensely pigmented gloss. Moreover, it gives medium to nearly complete color payoff in just 1-2 swipes. I also believe that it will work fine on normal-dry lips, though the not-so-smooth finish might highlight our major lip flaws. It has an impressive wear time of 5-6 hours but it slightly transfers to cups and glasses. After one heavy meal, it leaves soft lips behind .

applicator

My lips feel hydrated and supple as long as the gloss stays on my lips. In fact I often wonder that it has all the good qualities I seek in an ideal lip gloss – the non-sticky nature, light-weight texture and rich color pay off, even a long wear time. Yet that oomph factor is missing, probably because of its high price and imperfect finish. I mean I have tried similar glosses in low end brands too, and they perform more or less in similar manner.

I would still recommend it to everyone over Sephora cream lip stains especially if you love creamy juicy finish unlike dry matte stains. I might try it again, but in a different shade as I want to see if other shades are non-streaky.

• Easily slips on my lips without settling into lip lines
• Gives high-shine, glossy color pay off with full coverage in just 1-2 swipes
• The glossy shine soon transforms into creamy sheen
• My lips feel soft, hydrated and non-sticky as long as the gloss stays on my lips
• Stays for decent 5-6 hours
• Fades completely after one heavy meal, leaving behind well hydrated and soft lips
• Does not bleed
• Does not aggravate dry lip issues

Cons of Laura Geller Brandy Color Drenched Lip Gloss:

• Isn’t as smooth as expected
• Tends to sit into the lip lines after a while
• Its uneven finish might be tricky for dry lips
• Price

Well I honestly feel that the price is a big concern for me, considering its tricky finish. However I feel that the formula & texture are way good, and hence this range definitely deserves one chance. I am now keen to explore other shades from this range.
