Laura Geller Charcoal I-Care Waterproof Eyeliner Review

Product Purchased by IMBB

Hello readers! Today’s product is Laura Geller I-Care Waterproof Eyeliner in the shade “Charcoal.” It was a random pick, just to try out a nice charcoal on my eyelids; the only eyeliner color that was missing in my stash was a nice charcoal/grey especially because I don’t feel comfortable with vivid black blended on my lower lash because if I’m in a rush, I tend to leave in harsh lines! Special thank you to IMBB’s creative heads for introducing the points system under “Product Purchased by IMBB” scheme, which led to delegating more power to the writers 🙂

Product Description:
Soft, smooth, and super long-wearing, this water-resistant formula virtually floats into place. Whether you opt for a fine line, or a lush, smoky eye look, you’ll have expertly lined lids that last! This unique liner is called I-Care because its treatment-like formula contains beneficial and nourishing ingredients perfect for the delicate eye area. Mineral oil-and preservative-free, I-Care is ophthalmologist-tested and specifically formulated for use around the eyes, even for those who wear contact lenses and have sensitive eyes. The highly smudge-proof formula helps to perfectly line the inner eyelid. A soft, flexible smudger is attached to the opposite end. Pull the smudger off, and you’ll find a handy little sharpener tucked inside. Unlike most eye pencils, I-Care Eyeliner has a retractable point.

My Take on Laura Geller I-Care Waterproof Eyeliner:

Laura Geller I-Care Waterproof Eyeliners doesn’t come in any fancy packaging. It’s a black retractable pencil which can be retracted back as well (unlike Clinique Intensive Eyeliners). The bottom of eyeliner houses a rubber smudger which can be pulled out to reveal the nicely-tucked tiny sharpener. Now, Laura Geller has nailed it here; what else you need when you have a functional sharpener which gives you a blunt tip every time. Some part of the eyeliner’s case is color coordinated with the shade. Laura Geller I-Care Waterproof Eyeliner has a comprehensive range of 19 shades, but the shade “Java” has been discontinued.

The shade “Charcoal” is a medium grey shade with decent pigmentation. The formula isn’t much creamy (unlike what we have seen in recent eyeliner launches in high-end brands) yet it doesn’t tug or drag while it glides on the eyelids. There is no need to re-line because it applies evenly. The formula isn’t quite creamy which is a plus for those with oily eyelids because the eyeliner stays on for hours together without any smearing or smudging.

The formula is stubbornly waterproof, directly grab an eye makeup remover at the end of the day because no cleanser is going to work and you will be sleeping with eyeliner traces otherwise. There is no smearing or smudging through 6 hours of wear.  With the 8th hour, it looks uneven and dry and can’t be corrected, so better remove completely for reapplication.

This liner doesn’t irritate- eyes and is in fact safe for waterline too (no watery eyes). So far so good, the only issue is that the rubber smudger is useless. It has a quick-setting formula allowing just a couple of seconds to correct mistakes and smudge. If you are going for a smudged eyeliner, use some other tool or you have to live with the profound eyeliner the rest of the day.

The pigmentation for the shade “Charcoal” isn’t too impressive; you need at least two swipes for a visible grey liner. The darker shades behave well and one swipe yields the full opacity of the shade. The cap closes shut and the eyeliner is one of the best for on the go application because of the built in sharpener.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend Laura Geller Charcoal I-Care Waterproof Eyeliner?
I definitely recommend Laura Geller I-Care Waterproof Eyeliners. With an array of shades, you can choose whatever you shade fits in your current wish list. Since I have more than two dozen eyeliners to deal with at the moment, I am banning myself from eyeliner for a complete year, seriously! But I will keep the repurchase option open from Laura Geller I-Care Waterproof Eyeliner range because they deserve more love.
