My Experience with Laura Mercier Sugar Frost Caviar Stick Eye Colour:

Packaging:
This eyeshadow comes in a retractable pen style packaging which makes it very convenient to use and of course travel with. There is no hassle of sharpening which I like. The cap closes securely.

Texture:
These stick eyeshadows are super creamy and smooth. I haven’t had one dud from this line in terms of the beautiful texture and blendability. Even the shimmery shades, like this particular one, do not feel too gritty and are easy to apply. They can be blended with fingertips or a synthetic brush both, hence they are also beginner-friendly. They do set quickly, so it is best to do one eye at a time.

Shade & Finish:
The shade Sugar Frost is described as a tan beige shimmer. To me, it looks more of pale beige-y gold with lots of shimmer. This particular shade has less color payoff and more shimmer. On the eyes, it looks beautiful throwing just the right amount of sparkle to the catch the eye without being too glittery. You can use this shade on its own or under a powder eyeshadow to give it that multi-dimensional look. I think this shade will flatter everyone and can be used both as a daytime or a night time look.

This particular shade was difficult to build up as the shimmer tends to bunch up and look uneven. It is best used as one layer eyeshadow. I like the fact that the shimmer does not cause any fallout and adheres on the lids securely even without a primer. In fact there is rarely any need for primer with any other of these shades too.

Staying Power:
The staying power is amazing. There was absolutely no fading even at 8 hour mark. There was slightest bit of creasing but not too noticeable which could be due to the fact that I do have oily lids. The shimmer did not travel all over my face. The eyeshadow was easy to remove with an oil based makeup remover.

In the EOTD, used Sugar Frost all over the lid and blended with the shade “Ganache” in the crease for a super easy daytime look.

  1. Your EOTDs are always gorgeous, Neha and so is this one. I love how these humble shades always amplify our eye makeup. I am personally not a shimmer fan, but definitely love me some golds and bronze for festivals and weddings. And these shadow sticks by all the brands are like blessing for beginners like me. I find them very easy to work with as there is no fallout.

    1. Thank you Shikha 😀
I feel shimmery shades dont just need to worn in parties. They can add a nice pop to your look during daytime especially if you keep everything else neutral.
Cream shadows are truly a blessing for beginner and this product by far is the best performing cream stick shadows in my opinion
