This review will be on another shade from the Laura Mercier Lip Parfait range that I had hauled a while ago. This review will be on the shade “Juicy Papaya.”

My Experience with Laura Mercier Juicy Papaya Lip Parfait Creamy Colour Balm:

Packaging:  I love the sleek packaging. The cap closes securely and there is a signature of the brand’s creator Laura Mercier on the packaging, which gives this a luxe feel.

Texture:  The texture of this lipstick is buttery smooth and soft.  It glides smoothly on the lips without tugging.

Shade:  The shade “Juicy Papaya” is described as a coral pink, but on me, it looks a very strong orange color with red undertone. This shade brightens up the face and looks very summery. This shade will suit most skin tones provided you are comfortable pulling off such bright colors.

Pigmentation:  I was quite surprised with the pigmentation of this lipstick.  Deeper shades like this have a much stronger pigmentation and opaque coverage than its light counterparts. This shade delivers 85-90% opacity in 1-2 swipes.  You have to be extra careful while applying this lipstick as the very slippery nature and intense pigmentation makes any mistake or crossing over your lip line garishly visible. Though it may feel like a lip balm, you cannot just swipe this on like a lip balm without looking in the mirror.

Finish:  The finish of this lipstick is cream sheen, almost wet looking.  It gives your lips the appearance of being juicy and pout-y.

Feel on lips:  This lipstick feels like a hybrid between a lip balm and a lipstick.  It’s deeply hydrating and moisturizing on the lips and does not accentuate dry areas or fine lines. It does not feel sticky at all.

Staying Power:  This particular shade wears much longer than its lighter counterparts from the same range. It stayed for a good 5-6 hours with a few snack and drink breaks. It does disappear after a full meal leaving a very faint stain on the lips. The things I don’t like about this shade is that it does transfer a lot on everything which tends to make it look uneven and also tends to bleed slightly.

Fragrance:  It does have a very faint fruity scent which does linger on for long.

Overall, I do really love this range of Laura Mercier, mostly because of their immense hydrating quality. Though my preference would be to stick with the lighter colors in this range as they are a bit low maintenance and easier to pull off. The deeper brighter shades have a tendency to bleed and bold colors like this need constant attention to keep them looking good. I will recommend this particular range of lipsticks from Laura Mercier.

• Needs reapplication through the day, especially if you are taking a lot of breaks to eat or drink.
