Laura Mercier Pink Mosaic Shimmer Bloc Review

Hello everyone,

This review will be on the Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in the shade “Pink Mosaic.”

Laura Mercier Pink Mosaic Shimmer Bloc

Product Description:
A whisper-light powder to bring a snap of illuminating color to face, eyes and body.

What it does:
With her passion for natural, healthy-looking skin, Laura wanted to create an innovative product to add a youthful glow to the face and body. This modern, wearable pearl leaves skin gleaming without being too frosty or metallic, while lightly fine-milled French “Cashmere” Talc provides incredibly soft texture. With light-reflecting properties that blend together to give the skin a healthy all-over glow, it brightens the eyes, cheeks, and body with a hint of natural color and light.  This product is dermatologist and allergy tested. It is fragrance-free and suitable for all skin types.

My Experience with Laura Mercier Pink Mosaic Shimmer Bloc:

I have been on a highlighter craze ever since I have used the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector and have been on a quest to find something comparable or better than that. I have had good luck with Laura Mercier products in the past hence this quad of 4 different highlighter shades was something I couldn’t resist. This product comes in 3 variations namely Pink Mosaic, Peach Mosaic, and Golden Mosaic.

Packaging: The packaging is sleek and simple. It comes in a square compact case with a good-sized mirror, but it does not come with any applicator.

Texture:  These powders are finely milled and smooth though they are not as smooth as the other highlighter powders I have tried. There is slight grittiness to the shimmer. These powders are very firmly pressed in the pan and they do not kick up any powder when you dip your brush in. I like the fact that all the 4 colors are clearly separated hence you have the option of using an individual shade or mix two or more together. The shades don’t get muddy when you swirl you brush in them.

Shade:  The shades in this Pink Mosiac variation are a deep light reddish pink, a light pink, bright frosty silver and rose gold. All the shades swirled together give a bright silvery pink color.  These powders are easy to apply though you do need to build it up if you want a stronger intensity of the color which in turn will give a stronger glow too. The shimmer in this powder is not as fine as the ones in Becca hence you can see individual shimmer particles if you look up very close, but from far, it does give a beautiful glow. The glow given from this product is very strong and eye catching and not subtle looking by any means. For those who like subtle and natural-looking glow, you will find results given by this product too harsh.  I also use this product to highlight my brow bone and inner corner of the eyes.

Staying Power:  Staying power is great. It stayed on my skin for 6 hours with minimal fading after that. The shimmer did not slide all over my face.

Overall, yes this is a great product and even though it is very expensive, you get 4 different shades of highlighter in one product. If you like your highlight to be bam in your face glow-y, this product is for you.  I will recommend this.
