Continuing with the reviews of the very impressive Laura Mercier Lip Parfaits I hauled a while back, this review will be on my personal favorite shade, Raspberry Ripple.
About the Product:
A multi-functional lip formula, infused with a blend of vitamins and butters to smooth and volumize lips while leaving them wet and vibrant.
What it does:
Transform lips with juicy and vibrant color. Lip Parfait’s range of shades deliver incredible conditioning and comfortable application. The non-sticky formula provides the comfort of a lip balm, the coverage of a lipstick, and the shine of a gloss in just one swipe. Leave lips looking fuller, plumper, and ultra-soft for an alluring, youthful-looking lip look.
What it is formulated WITHOUT:
My Experience with Laura Mercier Raspberry Ripple Lip Parfait Creamy Colourbalm:
I like the sleek, square, tube packaging. There is no way to distinguish the color inside the tube, unless you read the label underneath which can be quite frustrating at times especially if you want to grab your lipstick in a hurry. Inside the tube, there is a signature of Laura Mercier that gives this product an air of luxury and appeal.
This lipstick has a very smooth, creamy texture and feels like a hybrid between a lip balm and a lipstick. It glides like butter on the lips with absolutely no tug.
This lipstick deposits 75-80% color with 1-2 swipes. Though it gives a good punch of color on the lips, it retains a sort of translucency that gives the lips a natural, luscious appearance.
This lipstick imparts a nice cream sheen on the lips, which is not overly glossy. It makes the lips look very juicy and plush.
Feel on Lips:
This lipstick feels so incredibly hydrating on the lips; almost like a boon for dry lips like mine. It has a smoothing feel on the lips which seems to camouflage fine lines and any dry patches.
The shade “Raspberry Ripple” is my favorite from the bunch because of its very wearable nature and its ability to look incredibly natural and flattering on my skin. I love pinky plum shades like this. This is a nice twist to MLBB lipsticks that usually lean towards pinky – mauves. This shade is suitable for both daytime and nighttime wear and looks flattering with any sort of makeup.
The staying power is good. It lasts 5-6 hours on my lips before completely fading away. It does fade faster if you happen to eat or drink in the meantime and will not last through a full meal. Hence, reapplication is a must if you want the color and shine to stay looking fresh.
Overall, I really love these lipsticks. They are very similar in texture, feel and look to the Urban Decay Sheer Revolution Lipstick, the difference being that the Laura Mercier ones are more hydrating while Urban Decay ones give a stronger color payoff. The have become my go-to, every day lipsticks and I find myself reaching for them a lot. I highly recommend them!
