My Experience with Laura Mercier Rose Gold Caviar Stick Eye Colour:
Packaging: This eyeshadow comes in a retractable pen style packaging which makes it very convenient to use and of course travel with. There is no hassle of sharpening which I like. The cap closes securely.
Texture and Pigmentation: These stick eyeshadows are super creamy and smooth. They can be blended both with fingertips or a synthetic brush hence they are also beginner friendly. They do set quickly, so it is best to do one eye at a time. Even the shimmery shades are smooth and not gritty.
The pigmentation is amazing. One swipe gives you full opaque pigmentation. There is absolutely no tug or skip, or a need to layer these. I like the fact that the shimmer does not cause any fall out, it adheres on the lids securely even without a primer. In fact, there is rarely any need for primer these eye sticks.
These eye sticks can be worn alone or topped with a powder eyeshadow. The stick shape makes it easy to smudge them on the lower lash line as well.
Shade and Finish: The shade “Rose Gold” is a beautiful everyday shade. It looks similar to the shade “Sugarfrost” that I had reviewed earlier, but “Rose Gold” has less visible chunky glitter and yields more opaque coverage. It also has a rosy undertone whereas “Sugar Frost” has a more yellow undertone. It has a shimmery metallic finish, but it is very understated and classy.
This color is super flattering to wear on the eyes, both during daytime or night time, and will flatter all skin tones. It easily pairs with most colors; as you can see in the EOTD, I have paired it with a beautiful purple shade in the crease.
Staying Power: The staying power is amazing. There was absolutely no fading or creasing even at 8-hour mark. The shimmer did not travel all over my face.
The eye shadow was easy to remove with an oil-based makeup remover.
Overall, I absolutely love these Laura Mercier caviar sticks. They are so fool proof that even people who consider themselves not good with makeup will find them easy to use and they have an amazing staying power, and come in a beautiful array of shades. I highly recommend this range 🙂
In the EOTD, I have used Laura Mercier Caviar Eye Stick in the shade “Rose Gold” all over the lid and the shade “Aubergine” in the crease. The whole look was done just using my fingertips and no brush. Eyeliner is Urban decay 24/7 eye pencil in the shade “Empire.”
