Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide Review

Hello everybody,

This review will be on the Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluid Foundation.

Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide

Product Description:

A long-wear, oil-free foundation that magically blurs the line between real skin and makeup.  This revolutionary bi-phase, two part formula is designed to deliver the most natural looking color and lightweight coverage. Brilliant color-true pigments rest at the bottom of the foundation while reflective waters (Hydro-Brilliant Technology) float to the top. Vigorously shake the package before each use to ensure that the pigments blend with the reflective waters to apply fresh-faced color every time.  This product is dermatologist-tested and noncomedogenic.

My Experience with Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide:

Packaging:  This foundation comes in a squeeze tube with a nozzle and an attached cap. You do need to be careful while opening the cap and I would recommend opening it by keeping the cap side up since the foundation tends start leaking out of the nozzle immediate upon opening which can cause a huge mess.

Consistency:  This foundation is very watery and it is recommended to shake very well before taking the product out as it contains “reflective waters,” which does tend to separate from the pigments in the foundation. I love watery foundations like this as I find they spread easily and give the most natural-looking finish without ever being cakey which is exactly how this foundation performs.

Coverage:  The coverage is medium and even with that, covers most of my skin flaws which includes redness and a few acne marks and scars. It is buildable and even with a couple layers, it never looks cakey. I do use my beauty blender to apply this.

Finish:  It dries down to a matte finish (turns from liquid to powder finish) which does not look dull at all. It has a very beautiful glow and never looks or feels like I have anything on my skin. My skin literally looked airbrushed; all my pores are blurred out. It blends and sinks in so well that it gives my skin the most natural and flawless appearance. Since it is matte finish, I do not find the need to set it with powder and it still looks impeccable all day. My skin does lean towards dry and I did not find this foundation accentuating the dryness or my flaky dry spots provided I use a good moisturizer underneath.

I got the shade “Honey” which was described online as light-medium with neutral/slightly warm undertones. It is a little bit darker and a bit orange for my natural NW23 skin tone, but it still does not look unnatural as it sheers out when applied and I can easily get away with using this shade without any issue.  The shade did not oxidize on me.

Staying Power:

I was highly impressed with the staying power of this foundation. It stayed looking fresh for 8-9 hours and I did not need any touch ups. It did not get shiny or greasy on me by the end of the day.  This foundation is designed to be humidity resistant, water resistant and sweat resistant. I have never tested this foundation in all those conditions but it is good to know that it has these qualities.  There is a huge selection of 24 shades to choose from.

Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide

Overall, a big hit for me. I have been impressed with a few Laura Mercier products I have used in the past and had high expectations from this and it lived up to it and delivered much more. I will most definitely recommend.
