Hey Everyone!

Laura+Mercier+Under+Eye+Perfecter+Orange+Yellow+Review

My journey with dark circles is never ending and no matter what I do, they are probably never going to leave me since for the most part, they are hereditary, so there is nothing much I can do about it other than correct and conceal them and keep the eye area well moisturized!

I am always on the lookout for products which would help me in correcting the extreme darkness around my eyes and there are a few products which I have heard so much about and one of them is the Laura Mercier’s Under Eye Perfector in the shade Orange/Yellow. Now, Laura Mercier products are well known across the world for high quality and performance. Read on to find what I think of this product and if it is a must-have or not 🙂

Product Description:

A unique cream designed to help conceal, visibly awaken and provide complete coverage for even the most intense dark eye area.

Laura Mercier's Under Eye Perfector In Shade Orange

Details:

Taken from Laura’s personal technique of mixing a touch of pigment into concealer for problem areas.  She has created two highly pigmented shades that work with a range of skin tones.  Lightweight, emollient formula won’t cake or settle into fine lines.
Not intended for use on other areas of the face other than under eyes. 0.05 oz./1.7g

How To Use:

Apply after Foundation and before Secret Concealer to the under eye area. Using the Secret Camouflage Brush, lightly pick up a tiny amount of Under Eye Perfecter. Using feather-light strokes, gently apply to the dark area under the eye. Apply sheerly and layer for more coverage where necessary.  Using your ring fingertip, gently tap the product seamlessly into the skin.  Apply Secret Concealer over the area where you applied Under Eye Perfecter and set with Secret Brightening Powder with the Camouflage Powder Brush.

Laura Mercier's Under Eye Perfector In Shade Orange 3

My Experience with Laura Mercier Under Eye Perfecter – Orange/Yellow:

Laura Mercier Under Eye Perfecter comes in a grey box packaging and the product itself comes in a small maroon colored tub which is similar to MAC’s paint pots but a lot lighter since this one is made from plastic.

The product itself is orange in color and the texture reminds me of cream eyeshadows or MAC paint pots which goes on smooth and settles to a powder finish. I wouldn’t call it completely a matte powdery finish but very much like Maybelline Color Tattoos, but without the shimmer and glitter, and this one is more moisturizing, so perfect if you have dry skin around eyes like me.

Laura Mercier's Under Eye Perfector In Shade Orange 5

The shade is orange, not too bold or bright, rather I would call it a dull orange and hence works very well in concealing the darkness around the eyes and gives a very natural look. Sometimes, if the corrector is bright orange even after applying a concealer, the orange color shows through which looks very unflattering! But this one is just a perfect shade of orange and love it for the natural finish.

The pigmentation is good but does not work for those extremely dark inner corners, you will know what I am talking about if you have it 🙂 I have extreme darkness in inner corner of my eyes and though it does cover the darkness but not completely and to be honest, I am fine with it since I like the natural look.

This also works on hyperpigmentation around mouth, I have severe hyper pigmentation around mouth due to some bleach reaction years back and I dab a little of this corrector and it effectively hides the darkness 🙂

Laura Mercier's Under Eye Perfector In Shade Orange 7

It stays on my dry eyelids for good 8+ hours and I have not tested it beyond. My only complaint about this product is that it does tend to crease a little bit only on my eyelids, it does not settle into lines or creases under my eye area. If you want to use it to cover darkness on your eye lids, use a primer beneath and it will work great and not crease 🙂

Pros of Laura Mercier Under Eye Perfecter – Orange/Yellow:

  • Convenient and lightweight packaging.
  • The shade orange is perfect for correcting darkness around the eyes.
  • Pigmentation is good.
  • Blends very easily.
  • Does not feel drying.
  • Goes on smooth and feels moisturizing without any stickiness.
  • Does not settle into fine lines under the eye area.
  • Lasts for 8+ hours.
  • Gives a very natural finish.
  • Works well on covering hyperpigmentation.
  • Easily available online or at Sephora stores.
  • Complete ingredient list mentioned.
  • I believe Laura Mercier products are cruelty free and paraben free.

Cons of Laura Mercier Under Eye Perfecter – Orange/Yellow:

  • Creases a bit on eyelids after 6+ hours (nothing too major).
  • Does not cover extreme darkness in the inner corner of eyes.
  • If you have extremely oily skin around eyes, it will crease, so make sure you use as primer beneath to make it work.

I would definitely recommend the under eye perfecter in orange/yellow if you are looking for correcting the under eye circles.  If you have extremely oily skin around eyes, it may settle or crease, so don’t forget to use a primer beneath.

I hope the review was helpful.  Until next time, take care and stay beautiful 🙂
