Le Labo Vetiver 46 Eau de Parfum Review

When it comes to perfumes, Santal 33 has become my holy grail fragrance. Also, I wanted to try more fragrances from “Le Labo.” So, on my last trip to Singapore, I went to Escentials in Paragon to get a freshly-prepared Le Labo fragrance for me and the one that I picked up is “Vetiver 46.”

Product Description:
Vetiver 46 by Le Labo is a woody fragrance for women and men. Vetiver 46 was launched in 2006. The nose behind this fragrance is Mark Buxton. The fragrance features labdanum, tahitian vetiver, pepper, guaiac wood, cedar, olibanum, amber, bergamot, vanilla and cloves.

My Experience with Le Labo Vetiver 46 Eau de Parfum:

This perfume comes in a heavy, thick glass bottle with the label mentioning a few of its notes and ingredients. You can also get it customized with your name on the label, as I did 😛 The cap is a heavy metal cap with the LE labo engraved on it. Overall, the packaging is just fine and nothing special.

After smelling several Le Labo fragrances, I went for Vetiver and it was a tough task to decide and pick one from so many amazing perfumes out there. After Santal 33, Vetiver 46 is similar in notes to what I prefer. Vetiver 46 is a very dark, deep, slightly smokey, slightly earthy, semi spicy, and semi green fragrance. It is similar to what I like but very different from the fragrances that I have in my stash.

It is very strong when you spray initially and you might also not like it initially, that’s what has happened with me, but then the scent settles down in an hour and then it turns out to be the most beautiful, warm, spicy scent. It might end up being my favourite winter scent.

As the scent mellows down, it becomes more of an intimate fragrance and only people sitting next to you will be able to smell it. I personally feel this will be better for night time than day outings.  Like Santal 33, this eau de parfum is also very long lasting and you need just a single spray for it to last hours on you. I get a full day wear out of this perfume.

If you like dark, deep, spicy perfumes, then you will definitely love this.
