Leaders Clinic is a Korean clinical skincare brand that’s been increasingly popular in Asia lately, in particular Hong Kong and Singapore. The brand was supposedly developed by dermatological specialists in Korea utilizing their knowledge and experience in dermatology, and is fast developing a reputation for products that actually work. Their best selling items are their masks, which apparently sell 500,000 sheets a month! With such a reputation, I couldn’t wait to try it – after all, nothing is better worth your money than skincare that actually delivers.

Description:

The Derma Soul Anti-Sebum Mask controls excessive sebum and keeps the skin’s natural oil-moisture ratio in balance, leaving the skin looking refreshed. It tackles the T-Zone and U-Zone, helping to reduce breakouts.

Containing Pine oil to balance oil production, as well as work as an antiseptic and antibacterial remedy.

Ingredients

Using natural preservatives: Rhododendron diversipilosum, Ecklonia Cava Extract, Artemisia messerschmiktianaBesset, Houttuyniacordata, Saururuschinensis. No coloring, artificial perfume.

How to use:

• Recommended to use 2-3 times per week
• Cleanse and dry face, then refine with toner
• Apply mask 15-20 minutes. Do not leave until the mask has dried up as this will dehydrate your skin.
• Remove and tap your face for a while. Leave it around 10-15 minutes for the essence be fully absorbed

My Experience with Leaders Clinic Derma Soul Anti-Sebum Mask:

This is a sheet mask, and comes in a very neat-looking silver-blue foil packaging. When you open the mask, you get a very plump looking sheet swimming in clear liquid. The liquid has a very slight medicated smell to it. The texture of the clear liquid is like water, but a little stickier. If applied in small amounts to the skin, it actually absorbs very fast. So while I was taking pictures for the review, I realised it is actually possible to produce a bottled serum from this liquid. So while I was applying the mask, instead of transferring into a bottle I left it in the foil packaging and used kitchen clips to close it.

The mask material is made out of silk cellulose, which makes it thicker and stronger than paper, but otherwise, it feels and behaves like paper. The mask is also porous, and there are tiny holes in the mask. I quite like the material; actually, it isn’t as flimsy as paper, but still light. The size of the sheet is big and I have a small face but it isn’t a con for me. So I left it on for 25 minutes as against 15 minutes. It still had a lot of clear liquid which wasn’t dried, so I took off the mask and squeezed the liquid out and tapped it for a few minutes. There was still so much liquid left in the mask sheet that I did two more rounds of the former. I left it for another 10 minutes and eventually the liquid did dry to almost 80%. I then washed it off my face and threw the mask away.

The mask did leave my face feeling hydrated. It was like a rush of water into the skin. The liquid residue it leaves behind does have a slightly sticky feel to it, but it also did leave my skin feeling softer. I’m also pleased to report that it didn’t break me out. Since I have sensitive skin, some skincare products do break me out (Clinique, Forest Essentials, Kama topping the list) so I was glad to find that this mask moisturized and softened my skin without any adverse effects. Also, while the mask felt cool and refreshing upon application, it didn’t sting my face, which was also a good thing. So this mask will probably work on sensitive skin as well.

I have a combination skin with twice or thrice occasions of breakouts in a month. This product is meant for people with oily, acne-prone skin. I love this mask! It’s very renewing and made my skin feel so clean, oil-free and soft. The next morning the breakouts reduced in size and skin appeared clearer. The results are excellent and my pimples cleared up quicker and skin is less oily. This mask made my skin less shiner the next morning and not too dry which keeps to a balance. It didn’t leave a sticky feeling after removing the mask. It feels really gentle on the skin.

Would I recommend/repurchase Leaders Insolution Derma Soul Anti-Sebum Mask?

Definitely yes! But applying it 2 to 3 times a week, doesn’t seem to be too convenient for me.
