Whoever is a makeup junkie like me and is not living under a rock, knows this makeup brand “Lime Crime.” I would be reviewing the shade “Cupid” in this review.
$20 (0.088 floz / 2.6ml)
What it does: Makes your lips feel luxurious and velvety, like a rose. Lasts all day with minimal touch-ups, even through meals.
What it won’t do: Bleed or transfer. Dry out properly moisturized lips. Ruin the perfect kiss.
TIPS:Apply lip balm 15 minutes prior; pat off excessive oils with a tissue. Apply Velvetines directly to lips (use a lip brush to refine edges). Remove at the end of the day with waterproof makeup remover or oil.
My Take on Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick Cupid:
First things first, I totally agree with Kulpreet that is the most expensive liquid lipstick considering the amount and price tag.
The lipstick comes in a striking metallic red box with flowers on it. It’s a bright packaging I must say, very eye catching. Inside the box, there is a frosty tube with red cap. They give a typical doe-foot applicator to apply which I feel is the best way to apply a liquid lipstick.
“Cupid” is described as a “petal pink” shade on its official website. It is a rosy pink color with slight mauve undertones. I picked it up without trying assuming it will suit my NC 40 skin tone because I have no option to try and find that out.
The texture is quite watery and I was little disappointed when I could see streaks of application on my lips. It comes out quite light on my lips. They take like about 2 minutes to dry, but once dry, it gets locked on the lips. You can eat a heavy meal, drink as much as you want or go around kissing (this I haven’t tried by the way :P) —it will not move! It has a vanilla kind of a fragrance which I love in lipsticks.
One thing that I want to mention is that this shade is not for darker skin tones and it will make them look washed out. It does accentuate fine lines after long hours of application and makes lips dry.
Pros of Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick Cupid:
- Does not transfer.
- Cruelty free.
- Not for all skin tones.
- Nice shade.
- Attractive bright packaging.
- Small applicator, so more control on application.
- Color shows from the tube, so easy to identify.
Cons of Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick Cupid:
- Availability in India (this is my standard complaint all the time).
- Feels dry.
- Expensive considering the quantity.
- Bad reputation of the brand.
Do I Recommend Lime Crime Velvetines Liquid Matte Lipstick Cupid?
I will not recommend this one, unless you are actually looking for this kind of shade, but you can surely try other shades from this range.
