Today, I am reviewing a lipstick from a range that I always wanted to own but the hefty price tag always deterred me. I took the plunge recently and now this luxe lipstick happens to be the most coveted possession in my vanity. I am talking about the shade “Private Party” from the Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope range. So, read on to find out more about this lipstick.

My Experience with Lipstick Queen Velvet Rope Private Party Lipstick:

Packaging: This lipstick comes in a gorgeous golden metal square case. The packaging is heavy and sturdy; but at the same time, it looks and feels luxurious. The cap shuts with a magnetic closure. The name of the lipstick appears on a sticker on the bottom.

Even the outer cardboard packaging of the lipstick feels quite glamorous as it has some kind of a velvet feel to it. In short, a totally flaunt-worthy packaging which anybody will fall in love with.

Shade/Pigmentation:  “Private Party” is a gorgeous hot pink shade with red undertones. This is a beautiful shade which will suit Indian skin tones perfectly. There is no doubt that this is a bright shade but one that will look classy. Totally suitable for parties or other festive occasions.

The pigmentation of this lipstick is insane. It is deeply pigmented and only a single swipe is enough to cover even pigmented lips.

Texture/Finish/Staying Power:  The texture of the lipstick is amazing. It is creamy without being too soft or slippery. It glides on the lips smoothly with no tug at all and makes your lips feel moisturized and supple. The lipstick feels quite light on the lips and is very comfortable to wear. There is a slight peppermint scent and also a slight tingly feel when you first apply the lipstick. But that doesn’t linger for too long. I noticed no feathering or bleeding even though this is a bright shade. It doesn’t settle into lip lines either.

The finish is of a velvet matte kind, not drying at all, and with the perfect amount of sheen to give it some dimension.

The staying power of the lipstick is pretty good too. It does transfer but only slightly. It lasts for around 6 hours or so depending on what you are eating. The lipstick manages to look fresh and bright long after you have applied it and it fades evenly leaving a slight tint behind.

To summarize, this lipstick is a splurge for sure but a very worthy one at that.

If you don’t mind splurging 50 dollars on a lipstick, YES for sure.  If the price was not a factor, I would surely like to try other shades from this range.
