Little Witch Brown Mote Mascara and Liner Special Set Review

I was looking for a new eyeliner since I was running out of my favourite one, Kanebo Kate Super Sharp Liner BK-1. I rushed to the mall and got this as a pack for 1700 yen. Usually, their mascara alone costs about 1500-1800, so I found it to be a great deal. Did it live up to my very high expectations? Let’s find out!

Packaging:
The packaging for both the products is drool-worthy. The mascara has lovely rose gold packaging that feels very luxurious in your hands. But since it is so slick, there are more chances of it slipping out of your hands. As for the liner, the packaging is quite interesting since it is cut like an octagon. This one makes holding the liner so much easier. The bottle of the liner is golden in colour and has a small rim that indicates the colour.

My Experience with Little Witch Brown Mote Mascara and Liner Special Set:

Mascara:

This mascara is mainly for lengthening and separating the lashes. It generally needs a lot of building up. One light coat makes it look like I have no lashes and makes them disappear (more so because of its colour). This is great for women who have very light hair and want to adjust the colour of their eyelashes to their hair. Most women here colour their hair and it is mostly brown, light brown or blonde. So, it will work better for such women. On women with dark hair, the mascara colour does not emphasise the eyelashes, which is the most basic function of a mascara.

When it is built up, it looks much better and still does not clump. But, doing so does not build volume. One of the major issues I have with this mascara is that it does not hold curl. My lashes get droopy from the time I apply the mascara, even though the mascara does not seem to weigh them down (my lashes naturally want to droop). This comes off easily with warm water, so there is no need to use makeup remover, which is a huge plus. Also, it has ‘protective’ properties, but that isn’t enough for me to buy this again, personally. The more I use this mascara, the more I realise how much better the Kate mascara is. So now, my Kate mascara is my holy grail mascara.

Liner:

The liner shade is a little lighter than what I usually like. The colour is very light, but it will be perfect for lighter skin tones which is their target audience, anyway. So, I can’t fault them for that. The formula is more runny than my other liners, so I have to go over the line a few times to get the opacity that I want. The only amazing thing about this liner is that it glides on like a dream and sets very quickly – within a few seconds and stays put afterwards too. It does not budge, no matter what even on my oil slick eyelids. I do appreciate the fact that it has some sort of anti-aging factors. Also, it comes off easily with warm water just like the mascara, so again that is a huge plus.

All in all, a lesson learned! No more brown mascaras for me from now on!

No, not this particular mascara and liner. I do want to try other colours and other mascaras from this brand, though.

Would I Recommend Little Witch Brown Mote Mascara and Liner Special Set?
No, it is very meh in my opinion! There are better and more amazing mascaras out there. The liner is pretty average too.
