My Take on Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion:
As always, I am starting the review with the packaging details. Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion comes in a beige-colored plastic bottle, looks like old school type packaging. Inside is a runny and colourless, odourless, watery solution which they have termed as lotion. I am all settled with the sturdy packaging as the cap closes really tight except for the fact that there is no nozzle or even an inside lid with a hole dispenser which can release a controlled amount of product. Since the directions for use mentions to soak a cotton pad/swab in the solution and clean the eyes; when I try to soak the cotton swab, a lot of solution gets soaked up and leads to wastage of this expensive lotion.
I have already defined the consistency of the Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion. It seems like a volatile liquid with a few bubbles, but it isn’t volatile in reality. The usage is simple and easy. It does not sting the eyes. It definitely cleans up the eyes and gives you an “awakened” feel. The eyes feel somewhat relaxed and neat :P. there is no stinging or tear issues with me when I use it. However, my mom feels a slight tingling sensation for a few seconds.
However, there is no cooling sensation and the relaxing or soothing effect is 50-50 for me. When I soaked two cotton pads and placed it over my eyes for ten minutes, my eyes felt refreshed, light and less tired.
The most tempting part is the ingredient list of the product. Aloe vera, glycerine, D-panthenol, eye bright extract, witch hazel water and cornflower extract. This lotion is totally non oily and non greasy, and suitable for all skin types.
Pros of Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion:
- A lightweight, non-greasy solution for cleaning eyes.
- Wakes up eyes instantly.
- Reduces puffiness and soothes tired eyes to some extent.
- Satisfactory ingredient list.
- Sturdy packaging.
Cons of Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion:
- Contains sodium propylparaben.
- There should have been a nozzle to dispense the solution.
- Not a miraculous product for tired eyes.
IMBB Rating:
4/5
Would I Repurchase/Recommend Liz Earle Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion?
This isn’t an indispensable product. A cucumber slice or green tea bags can do the same job in a natural way. However, those with computer-oriented jobs can keep this at their workplace to revive their tired eyes. I won’t repurchase this lotion again.

You are right Sumi – tea bags would be much more refreshing for tired eyes.
For a product this expensive, it seems to do nothing. 🙁 Great review though Sumera 🙂
The ingredient list does seem tempting here until you see sodium propylparaben! :/ I love using chilled tea bags on my eyes.
Exactly jomol…
Yes garima…its wastage of money to buy every product available in market….
Shikha….tea bags n cucumber slices work far better…even cool water soaked cotton pads do the job too..
