L’Occitane Aromachologie Control Mist with 5 Essential Oils Review

L’Occitane Aromachologie Control Mist with 5 Essential Oils Review

Hi All,

I have been using a hair mist from L’Occitane for quite a while now and it is the Brume Mist with five essential oils.  It is from the “Repairing” range for dry and damaged hair and I am using the whole range, i.e., shampoo, conditioner as well as the mask from it. All of these products are reviewed on IMBB by Rati.If you guys think why we need a hair mist, please keep on reading. How many of us shower, then moisturise, and then spritz on perfume only to be let down by less-than-perfect smelling hair? Washing hair every single day is not necessary and not recommended if you live in a cold climate. Most of us wash our hair once in 2 or 3 days. However, since hair absorbs fragrances as well as smells such as smoke easily, it is difficult for the hair to smell great all the time.  That is where L’Occitane Brume mist comes in 🙂

Hair Mist

My Experience with L’Occitane Aromachologie Control Mist with 5 Essential Oils:

My main intention for buying this product was to utilize it to freshen up my hair, especially during the winter time because washing hair every single day is out of the question. I also feel that our hair gets the food smell after cooking and if I am in a hurry to go out, I use this mist. This product is also very helpful for smokers as it will reduce the smell of cigarette from their hair.  Since I use the shampoo and conditioner from the same range, all three of them have the same fragrance. This gives me a freshened-up feeling. This product is similar to body mist used for freshening up, and face mist used for face, and the only difference is that it is intended for the hair. However, this product is different from dry shampoos. I have used dry shampoos and they are used to freshen up the scalp and roots between washes. The L’Occitane control mist is for the hair and it should not be used on the scalp as it contains alcohol.

L'Occitane Hair Mist

The product comes in a see-through bottle with a fine spray. It sprays as a fine mist. I have used this just after showering and towel drying and also between washes. I spray it to the lower one-third of my hair and then comb through. This mist definitely makes hair fresh and is quite a helpful product for winter where you can actually wait another day before washing your hair. However, I didn’t feel this product works to “hold hair in place.”  I’m not sure if it protects my hair from environmental factors. The essential oils in the mist provide a relaxing sensation.

Pros of L’Occitane Aromachologie Control Mist with 5 Essential Oils:

  • Helps in removing smoke as well as other odours from the hair and keeps hair fresh in-between washes.
  • Contains essential oils such as (Lavender) Oil, angelica Archangelica Root Oil and Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil.
  • Comes in an easy-to-use transparent bottle with a fine mist.
  • Easy to carry around as the bottle is sturdy and does not leak at all.
  • The essential oils in the product provide relaxation.

Cons of L’Occitane Aromachologie Control Mist with 5 Essential Oils:

  • It doesn’t help hold hair in place as claimed.
  • I am not sure if it protects hair from environmental conditions.
  • Contains alcohol, so might dry hair if used regularly.

IMBB Rating:

3.5/5.  I have reduced 1.5 marks because it doesn’t do some of the things it claims, and this is not a necessary product when it comes to hair care.

Will I Repurchase L’Occitane Aromachologie Control Mist with 5 Essential Oils?

I would not repurchase the same mist, but if there are any other variants with different fragrances, I would like to try, but I have heaps of product left for now 😛

  1. Hi Neha ,
This shouldn’t be used regularly .The alcohol hasn’t dried my hair out because i don’t use this regularly,…. it just helps in emergencies and that’s why its easily last a year …..

Rose water sounds like a good option…..

    1. Thanks jomol,….. our cooking compared to western food gives odour…but i woldnt say it is a bad smell,..since we use oil and temper spices that smells gets abosorbed ….however you wouldnt want to smell like food the whole 🙂

Thats why we have extinguisher fans here just above the stove top so the smell goes outside and doesnt stay inside the house. I sometimes wear a showercap while cooking 🙂
