L’Occitane Delice des Fleurs Rose and Violet Eau de Toilette Review

I was totally in love with the L’Occitane Delice des Fleurs range. I first purchased the lotion, gel and solid perfume; all in travel sizes (since only the travel size was affordable).  I loved the fragrance and cute packaging so much that I really wanted to buy the Eau de Toilette as well. However, it was too pricey, and I wanted to wait till sale time.  During May/June, that was a couple of months ago, there was a sale at L’Occitane, and this was in my wish list, I really had to grab this one. This is my very first perfume from L’Occitane and this has tempted me to get into natural, sugary fragrances and made me forget all designer fragrances which smell chic but artificial.

Price:

Initially AUD 58, was on sale for around AUD 35.

Product Description:

In the traditional candy factories of Provence, flowers from the region are transformed into irresistible, mouth-watering treats. Different seasons bring different flowers. From spring to summer, freshly picked Rose and Violet petals are covered in sugar and fill the air with delicious scents.  The Délice des Fleurs Eau de Toilette, a gourmand floral fragrance with a powdery vanilla base and aromas of May Rose and Violet leaf absolutes, evokes the scents that escape from the workshops where the crystallized flowers are made.

Ingredients:

My Experience with L’Occitane Delice des Fleurs Rose and Violet Eau de Toilette:

The perfume packaging is too cute, just like all other products from the same range. The bottle is also cute with a light pink colour frosted glass. It is adorable and its a “girly girl’s” dream. Delice des fleurs is one of the best floral fragrances I have smelt so far.  Fragrances are a personal thing, if you don’t like romantic, sensual and feminine scents, this is not for you!.  I feel EDPs are too strong for my liking and I prefer EDTs more. When I wear a fragrance I don’t want people to identify, it shouldn’t be too intense. I want to have a light fragrance on my body throughout the day.

Delice des Fleurs

The top notes are rose, violet and vanilla and the top notes stand out. This makes the perfume smell powdery, sugary and floral and is not at all over the top on the sugary part.  This is perfect for me as I don’t want to smell like a teenager, but a woman in her twenties. Having said that, this perfume is good for the young and young at heart.  I am also not too fond of plain rose fragrances (such as C&A rose line).  I will only wear that kind of fragrance in about 50 years time :P.  This fragrance; however, has more violet concentration and a small amount of rose concentration, so it is perfectly fine for me. The theme for the perfume is “candied sugar.” However, don’t compare this to Britney Spears Fantasy as this perfume is heaps better and subtle. This perfume lasts a reasonable amount of time, but I expected it to be more long lasting because of the price.

What I Like about L’Occitane Delice des Fleurs Rose and Violet Eau de Toilette:

  • Smells absolutely romantic and feminine.
  • Comes in a cute frosted glass bottle.
  • The Delice Des Fleurs range has shower jelly, lotion, hand cream and solid perfume to layer the fragrance according to our needs.
  • Lasts a reasonable amount of time.
  • Would suit any age category.

What I Do Not Like about L’Occitane Delice des Fleurs Rose and Violet Eau de Toilette:

I don’t have any major cons except for this line being limited edition, I so wish they made this line available throughout the year.  Having said that, this product is still available in most countries even though it was either introduced for Christmas or Valentine’s Day.

IMBB Rating:

5/5.

Fragrance is a personal choice and I love natural floral/fruity scents, hence I am giving it 5/5.  I would definitely repurchase this line if it becomes available throughout the year.

  1. After fruity fragrances, rose fragrance is my favourite too…but as you said…subtle ones…..want to sniff this one….nice review Supriya 🙂

  2. sounds so awesome supriya. I am totally addicted to the verebna range from loccitane these days. I really can’t have enough of citrusy fragrances in my life. 😛 I’d check this out. Love the rose fragrances as well. 🙂

  3. this is a great review for the Delice des Fleurs rose and violet. I am using it and like you, started with the body lotion. Found it just last june when I went back to France to visit my family. I rushed to l’Occitane store to buy the perfume, and was told they had no more… that they ran out of stock as soon as it was put on the market last xmas. Luckily I found a pharnacy where they had some of l’Occitane products and finaly got the perfume. Nothing to add to what you wrote about it, I just love it! I used rose water as a face lotion for ages and it is great. I had one an indian rose perfume I bought in St Martin when I was there and it was great, but never found it again in other places. Now I use my Delice de Fleurs sparingly to make it last longer….
I am going to write l’Occitane in France to know if they intend to do it again, may be we have to wait for the right season for flowers picking….
love your blog by the way!
