Thanks to IMBB, I know a thing or two about makeup now, and also about the importance of removing makeup at the end of the day! So today let’s talk about an oil-based makeup remover.

L’occitane Immortelle Oil Make-Up Remover Review

Price: Rs 1990

Product Description:
This silky cleansing oil removes even the most stubborn make-up, as well as impurities that have built up during the day. It helps smoothing the skin with each use, thanks to its formula enriched with immortelle essential oil, with exceptional anti-aging properties. The complexion looks immediately clean and clear.
Efficient on waterproof make-up, this oil is ideal for all skin types.

Usage:
Use on dry skin. With eyes closed, massage over the face and eye area. Work into a lather with a little water, then rinse well with clean water.

What I Think about L’occitane Immortelle Oil Make-Up Remover:

The transparent oil-based remover comes in a small but fat plastic bottle with a pump dispenser attached. The pump is lockable with a click, so there won’t be any accidental spillage in your bag if you’re travelling with it. But personally, I don’t like the idea of travelling with a 200 ml bottle! It is from the Immortelle range; also, I have to say that the packaging looks really attractive.

label

My makeup usually includes Bourjois CC cream, some Lakme Absolute kohl and L’Oreal Superliner/Zoeva Baroque! On eyes, I usually use the Maybelline clean express remover first, which is my absolute favourite for removing eye makeup. Then I take half a pump of this oil remover (believe me, it’s more than enough) and massage it on my face for a minute. It is quite runny and there is absolutely no stickiness. It spreads easily and with few drops of water, it emulsifies to a milky consistency. The best thing about oil cleansers is that they clean your skin without leaving it stretchy dry and this is no different. With few splashes of water, your skin is thoroughly clean without that dry feel. It washes off easily and there is oil slick that few oil-based cleansers give. I also notice that skin feels amazingly smooth after each use, like really smooth!

bottle

I also use it when I don’t have any makeup on, on those miserable skin days, when my skin needs some extra pampering (if you know what I mean). It is great to be used as a morning cleanser. Also, I love that it never irritates my eyes.

pump dispenser

As it is so light, I initially thought that it won’t work on heavy makeup. My sister was in town for a wedding and as she is a hardcore makeup lover, I asked her to use this for removing makeup after a party. She took a full pump of this and massaged it on her face for a minute or two (the makeup included L’Oreal True Match foundation, Bobbi Brown concealer, Tarte blush, Tantalizer bronzer, and many other things that I don’t remember!). I am jotting the product names so that you get an idea about how effective this cleanser is on breaking down makeup. It dissolved all the makeup easily and quite quickly, though she went for a second cleanse with Bioderma.

swatch

So overall, it is a very good oil makeup remover, if you want to spend that much on a makeup remover. A close dupe I would say would be the TBS chamomile cleansing oil, which is budget friendly too.

What I Love about L’Occitane Immortelle Oil Make-Up Remover:

• A very gentle and light oil makeup remover.
• Works on all kinds of makeup effectively.
• Doesn’t leave an oil slick on face and washes off easily.
• Makes skin smooth after every use; great for morning cleanse.
• Doesn’t irritate eyes or skin.
• The pump dispenser comes with a lock.
• Has a heavenly floral (marigolds/calendula sorts) fragrance, but nothing like headache inducing!

What I Don’t Love Much about L’Occitane Immortelle Oil Make-Up Remover:

• A little pricey!
• No other size available.

IMBB Rating: 4.8/5

Would I Recommend/Repurchase L’occitane Immortelle Oil Make-Up Remover?
I do recommend this to all makeup enthusiasts who would love to splurge! Repurchasing is a little doubtful as this would last long and I would love to try something new. 🙂
