My Take on L’Occitane Limited Edition Hibiscus Flower Shea Lip Balm:

I think my search for a good non-greasy lip balm to be applied underneath the lipstick.  Like other products, I also keep trying different lip balms, but keep coming back to Vaseline, but these days, I feel that the Vaseline that we get in India has deteriorated in terms of quality and texture. I have used the Vaseline that you get in UAE and trust me it’s much much better than what we get in India.

I am using the L’Occitane Hibiscus Flower Shea Lip Balm since quite a few days now and this is my second tube. Earlier when I used this, I had extremely dry and chapped lips and no matter what I applied, they were just not getting better. I tried this lip balm too and it helped in removal of the dead and chapped skin over my lips, but it didn’t make my lips soft and tender then.

But what I really like about this lip balm is that it is non greasy, non glossy and a perfect lip balm to be applied underneath the lipstick. I have tried Fab India and other lip balms too, but those make lipstick application difficult and the lip color either doesn’t show up or settles on the edges of the lips.

I don’t encounter these problems when I use L’Occitane Hibiscus Flower Shea Lip Balm.  This makes lip color application such an easy job.

I am not sure if this is how hibiscus smells, but I am not in awe of how it smells. Quite a mild fragrance, not very pleasant to me, but I am okay with it, the fragrance wears off pretty quickly.

How I Use L’Occitane Limited Edition Hibiscus Flower Shea Lip Balm:

I normally use it whenever I have to apply lipstick.  I take a very little amount of this lip balm and apply it on my lips with the help of my finger. Then, I wait for about 4-5 minutes and then apply lipstick (meanwhile I do the rest of my makeup).  This helps the lip balm to get absorbed in the lips and helps it settle.

I am using too many matte lip colors these days and the lip balm is helping me to maintain my lips.  I feel my lips would have gone horribly dry had I not used this lip balm underneath.

Summing it up, this lip balm is non greasy, non glossy.  Not really helpful for overly chapped lips (it just removes the dead flaky skin, but doesn’t cure them).  Perfect lip balm underneath your lipstick.  It doesn’t interfere with the staying power of the lip color and doesn’t let the lip color slip off.  Expensive for the quantity provided.

IMBB Rating:

I would give it 4/5 as it is my HG lip balm when it comes to applying it underneath my lip colors, but I know I will need something else during winters to cure my chapped and flaky lips.

Would I Recommend L’Occitane Limited Edition Hibiscus Flower Shea Lip Balm?

Yes, if you are looking for a good lip balm underneath your lip color.

Will I Buy L’Occitane Limited Edition Hibiscus Flower Shea Lip Balm?

Yes, I will fetch one more tube as this is from their Limited Edition, but will also try other lip balms from L’Occitane to see if those work well too.

I am tempted to buy L’Occitane shampoos looking at how gorgeous your hair looks in your OOTD piccys with every passing day… 🙂

The nail color is a random one from VOV express finish. not sure if we get original VOV here.. but I totally fell for this color hence couldn’t resist buying it.. 😛
