L’Occitane Limited Edition Shea Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream Review

L’Occitane Limited Edition Shea Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream Review

Hello Ladies,

I am back with another product review from L’Occitane.  I was quite tempted to try L’Occitane shampoos after looking at Rati’s lovely hair in her OOTD pictures. I was searching for a shampoo that is sulphate and silicone free. I wasn’t too sure, hence decided to check if they have sulphate and silcone free shampoos and then buy. Meanwhile, I thought of trying their hand cream. Since I had already used the lip balm from their Hibiscus Flower range, I thought the hand cream from the same range would be good too.

My Experience with L’Occitane Limited Edition Shea Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream:

Well, I have always used body lotions and body butters for hands before this, but never used a hand cream. So, I was quite excited to use this cream.

No matter what season it is, my hands always look a little dry and dull. I apply body lotions just once after the bath and do not re-apply them during the day time. Most of the body lotions leave my hands a little greasy and hence I avoid re-applying them.

I use L’Occitane Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream after having bath on my hands and feet. Since this is a cream, its consistency is quite thick. It is non greasy, non sticky and absorbs quickly into the skin.

This cream doesn’t make my skin too shiny, but adds the right amount of sheen to it. I feel that it keeps my hands moisturised for quite some time, but I would have to re-apply this after 3 hours or so.

I feel that the Neutrogena moisturiser works best and you won’t have to reapply that for hours together. Neutrogena body emulsion works well too and they don’t make my hands greasy or shiny. They make my hands feel soft and lush. Even the Ulta Moisture Intense Body Butter works well and if I compare the price of all these to L’Occitane hand cream, they are far more affordable as you get good quantity as compared to the L’Occitane cream.

It makes my hands soft instantly and the softness is retained for about 2 – 3 hours.  Coming to the fragrance, it smells quite okay, not too pleasant for me. The fragrance is quite mild and stays on for quite some time.

L'Occitane Limited Edition Shea Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream

Overall, a good hand cream that could be okay for summers when you don’t need something buttery or greasy. I don’t think it would work for me during the winters.

Pros of L’Occitane Limited Edition Shea Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream:

  • Non sticky, non greasy.
  • Spreads easily.
  • Absorbs quickly.
  • Makes my hands soft.
  • Gives the right amount of sheen to the skin.

Cons of L’Occitane Limited Edition Shea Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream:

  • Expensive for the quantity.
  • One may have to re-apply the cream after a few hours (3 hours or so, depending on the skin type).
  • Fragrance is not so great, quite okay.

IMBB Rating:

Good (but expensive for the quantity and given that you will have to re-apply it after every 3 hours or so).

Will I Buy L’Occitane Limited Edition Shea Hibiscus Flower Hand Cream Again?

No, there are other creams available which cost far less than this one and work well. Having said that, I will try other variants of hand cream from L’Occitane.
