L’Occitane Organic Shea Butter Review

Skin type: Combination

My hunt for the non-tinted lip balm which is capable enough to tackle all my lip issues is never-ending. I have changed a zillion lip balms with a hope that the next one will be the “magical” lip balm. There is hardly any brand left in the market whose lip balm hasn’t touched my lips. I have even tried to make natural lip balms at home.

My Experience with L’Occitane Organic Shea Butter:

The main problem with me is that no matter which lip balm I use, my lips start to look dark and dry after the few minutes of application. I am not blessed with pink lips but the usage of lip balms makes them look more pigmented; my bare lips look more pinkish and healthy.

One of my friends suggested me that applying pure Shea Butter on the lips helps in making the lips soft and moisturised without making them dry or dark. My search for the Shea Butter ended when I bought the Shea Butter by L’Occitane. Though I picked this 100% pure Shea Butter for my lips only but after exploring about its benefits, it has become a multi-tasking product for me.

consistency

It comes in a small tin with a lid. It has a very old type but cute packaging. It is not at all a travel friendly product. It easily melts in summers and there is a high chance of leakage. In case you want to carry it with you, make sure that you place the jar in a right way.

It has a buttery texture which instantly melts as soon as it comes in contact with your skin. It looks white in colour when in the jar but turns completely transparent after application. You need only a nanoparticle of it for each usage. So a single jar will take ages to finish up completely.

It helps in nourishing the lips and moisturises them from inside which results in healthy and plump lips. Unlike other non-tinted lip balms which I have used earlier, this one does not make my lips look dark or pigmented post usage. It does not leave any whitish cast behind after few hours of application. The lips look soft and supple even after 4 -5 hours. You don’t need to apply and reapply it on your lips after every couple of hours. So basically it is a bonus point for lazy girls like me.

back

As I have confessed above, I bought it with an intention to use it only on my lips. But, later after reading about its usage, I have started to use it in different ways. I apply it on my cuticles before going on the bed. It works excellently on my skin whenever my skin turns dry. It gets absorbed into the skin easily after few minutes of massage. I gently massage my laugh lines with Shea Butter every night and it has helped in diminishing those to some extent. I know it will also work like a magic on my dry hands and super dry feet but I don’t want to waste the product by using it in these tasks.

Overall this Shea Butter has finally put a full stop on my hunt for the best non-tinted lip balm. It is a great multi-purpose product which can be used in numerous ways. It softens the skin and makes it babelicious soft. A little product goes a long way which makes it a completely good value for money product. It is a raw and unrefined Shea Butter and definitely the best one available in the market.

Pros of L’Occitane Organic Shea Butter:

• Gets absorbed by the skin easily
• Moisturises the lips and makes them healthy
• Heals the dry and flaky skin
• A multi-purpose product
• Contains 100% Shea butter
• A chemical-free product

Cons of L’Occitane Organic Shea Butter:

• Price tag may bother you a bit
• Availability is a major issue
• A non travel-friendly product
