L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream Review

L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream Review

Hello Ladies,

How are you doing today? Until I was in India (Bangalore), I did not find the “necessity” to use a separate hand cream. I was using a hand cream only when there was a need.  My body lotion was pretty much enough to keep my hands moisturized for the whole day. Using a hand cream was an extra pampering step for me, but now, after moving to a much colder and drier place, it has become a must for me to apply hand cream at least a couple of times throughout the day. Doing dishes and washing hands often adds to the problem.

L'Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream Review

I finished my Burt’s Bee Thoroughly Therapeutic Honey and Grapeseed Oil Hand Cream within days after coming here. It helped me a lot in keeping my hands from becoming dry during the day time.

I had the Burt’s Bees hand cream in my shopping list, but that is when I did a haul at L’Occitane and I picked up their much-hyped Shea Butter Hand Cream.

Product Description:

One of our best-selling Shea Butter Hand Creams is sold every three seconds around the world!  Enriched with 20% Shea Butter, this super-creamy balm penetrates quickly to protect, nourish and moisturize hands. Honey, almond extracts and coconut oil are blended with Shea Butter to create this extremely effective formula. The rich texture leaves hands soft and smooth with no oily traces, and can be applied as often as needed.  Considered a “beauty must-have” by many, this “life-changing” hand cream is essential for home, work and on-the-go.  Hands speak your age–but not indelibly. Shea Butter is used traditionally by African woman to soothe and smooth skin exposed to Earth’s fiercest ultraviolet conditions, and now can help relieve and restore yours. Massage this silky treatment into hands to counter dryness, retexturize skin and restore circulation.

Price:

$10 for 30 ml tube and $28 for 150 ml tube.

Ingredients:

Shea Butter

My Experience with L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream:

The hand cream is for dry skin and it has 20% pure shea butter in it, making it a perfect recipe for my dry hands.  It comes in a mess-free tube, easy to toss in a hand bag to be used on the go. Actually, the 30 ml tube is more travel friendly. It has a mild floral smell. To me, it smells like some baby product with a floral note to it. I quite enjoy the smell of it.

It is a white cream with a soft texture, goes on smooth and gets absorbed pretty quickly, leaving the hands super soft and supple. I can use my computer or phone right after using this, without worrying about leaving any oily marks on them.

I apply it once in the morning and by afternoon, I feel the need to apply it again after washing my hands.

Its a good hand cream and smells better than the Burt’s Bees one I have used before, but the Burt’s Bees one is a tad bit moisturizing than this one. I guess I would be alternating between this one and the Burt’s Bees hand cream.

Hand Cream

Pros of L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream:

  • Smells good.
  • Gets absorbed in a jiffy.
  • Non greasy and non messy.
  • Travel-friendly packaging.
  • Keeps hands soft for hours together.

Cons of L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream:

  • May be a little on the pricier side when compared to the Burt’s Bees Hand Cream.
  • Does not contain 100% natural ingredients.

Verdict:

This would serve you as a good daytime hand cream if you have dry hands. You can always go for a heavier hand cream  or night if you need that extra nourishment for your hands. Will talk more about in the next post 😉
